Alan had a lot of trophies from horse shows. Their father gave them two horses before he passed away. Their mother was depressed. Donald started smoking and spending time with smokers and bullies. Alan didn’t like Donald’s behavior and for this reason one day he talked to him about it. He asked him what he was doing, why he was throwing everything their parents worked for down the toilet? And he didn’t know. From this point, Alan started to pick him up from school and to take him to the stables to ride until night. After a week, Donald said to Alan that he was exhausted of being forced to spend his afternoons with him. But in that moment, he told him that he had a competition in two weeks Suddenly, he distances from the smokers and bullies and started to focus on strategies for running barrel events faster. Then, Alan had entered him in four other events and he felt insecure. The last event was running poles, the last place that would receive a trophy was the seventh and he thought he would get one. But then, the last competitor was faster than him. When the race finished, Alan told his brother that he had heard the correct time. After that, the announcer called his name and Colonel’s. He said that he was in seventh place. He knew that he didn’t win the trophy; it was because of Alan that the judge handed it to him.
