Conference In Numbers IntroductionThe 7th Annual Waste Management Middle East Forum was widely appreciated for providing strategical solutions to counter the magnitude of waste management problems in the GCC region and also for recommending techniques and policies which help in improving the waste management situations.Discussing the critical aspects regarding waste management, top industry leaders and professionals from Dubai Municipality, Dubai Carbon, EmiratesGB, Environmental Agency Abu Dhabi and many others shared their insights during the on-course of the forum.Eng. Naji Al Radhi the Head of Waste Treatment Section, Waste Management Department Dubai Municipality gave his speech on ‘Medical Waste and Hazardous Liquid Waste treatment Projects of Dubai Municipality’. following that, Qatar’s, RaGas Company Limited shared a case study based on its success story of implementing ‘flare gas reduction, recovery and re-use of (LnG) Liquified natural Gas’.The forum was supported by Dubai Municipality and Government of Dubai, while BEKON and Westinghouse acted as Silver Sponsors, Agrivert was reeled in as Associate partner and finally, Tarpomatic, Diesoil and Arafin were the Exhibiting partners during the forum.
Key Outcomes The forum discussed the upcoming projects handled by
Dubai Municipality to tackle waste management issues in the region.
Participants were also treated to discussions that led to developing solutions to bridge the gap between economic value and sustainability.
Insights about the installation of latest technologies to curb waste generation.
A brief introduction into the corporate initiatives and plans to promote zero waste management.
Discussions were more primarily focused on developing tools and techniques which would help to achieve zero land fills.
Analyzing the next generation solutions to convert waste into energy.
General outlook towards the future waste management technologies.
