• City of Zagreb produces around 230,000 tonnes of MSW/a, mostly being landfilled at the landfill site Jakuševec-Prudinec
• Act on Sustainable Waste Management (2013)
• Waste Management Plan in the Republic of Croatia for the period 2017-2022
• Ordinance on waste management (2017)
• EU obligation for Republic of Croatia:
- divert 65% of biodegradable waste produced in 1997 from landfills by the end of 2020
