    OUTSTANDING SENIOR MEMBER OF THE YEAR

    CRITERIA

    Nominee is a Washington Wing senior member who has performed assignments in an

    outstanding manner and contributed significantly to the advancement of Civil Air Patrol duringseveral years, as well as the past year. The senior selected for this nomination should have received

    one or more of the Wing Awards either this year or past years. The individual is nominated as the

    CAP Region/National Senior member of the year. The Personnel Director in consultation with the

    Awards and Decorations Board and Wing Commander will select the nomination During the years1987 through 1991 the nominee received the Wing Commanders Award.

    Nominee is a Washington Wing Cadet who has performed assignments in an outstandingmanner and contributed significantly to the advancement of Civil Air Patrol during several years as

    The Cadet of the Year award is presented to a cadet in Washington Wing who has provided a

    good example of progress through the Civil Air Patrol program. The cadet must have shown

    significant leadership and made important contributions to the CAP program in Washington Wing

    The Communications Award is presented to the member in Washington Wing who has

    contributed most significantly to the success of the communications program in the past year.

    COLONEL A. ROGER GUILMETT MEMORIAL AWARD

    OUTSTANDING WING DEPARTMENT HEAD (DIRECTOR))

    Col. Guilmett came from the Tacoma Sq. and was a long time member of Washington Wing

    Hq. Roger was Wing Commander from June 1963 to November 1968 and was next to the longestWing Commander. Washington Wing was in top National standings most of the time while he was

    Commander. He had the special ability to get people to work together. He had a keen interest in

    IACE and often opened his home for dinners as well as having staff meetings, picnics, and other CivilAir Patrol gatherings.
