ENTRIES CLOSE: Friday 16th March 2018 – ENTRY FORM ONLY no monies to be paid to the office.

ENTRIES AND ENTRY FEE RECEIVED: 3pm and 8pm Tuesday 20 March 2018 BY THE STEWARD AT THE

1. Entries will ONLY be accepted on payment of fees and completion of the official Needlework entry form and the GST Hobby Form.

2. An EXHIBIT is the actual article to be shown.

3. Exhibits a n d E n t r y f e e s will be received at the Pavilion between 3pm and pm on Tuesday 21 March 2016 OR phone me to make alternative arrangements; entries will NOT be received at the show office.

4. Prize Money will be collected at the same time as collecting exhibits. 5. NO prize money will be posted unless the exhibitor resides 50km or more from Warwick. 6. It is the judge’s decision as to whether prizes are awarded in a section or a class. ALL exhibitors MUST abide by the judge’s decision.

7. If there are no more than three (3) entries in a class only one prize will be awarded. 8. Cleanliness of all exhibits is essential; exhibits must be new and unused. 9. The exhibits must NOT have been washed (with the exception of exhibits from the spinning section) or worn. 10. The exhibit must be completely the OWN WORK of the exhibitor. 11. An ARTICLE is something NOT WORN, a GARMENT is a piece of CLOTHING.

12. All entries must have been completed within the last two (2) years. 13. Exhibits must NOT have been shown at a previous Warwick Show. 14. The committee reserves the right to reject any exhibit or exhibits which may be considered not of

sufficient merit to be displayed. 15. The Steward and/or Judge reserve the right to change the class of an article or garment.

16. A Novice is someone new to the hobby or craft in the last twelve (12) months. 17. Exhibits will be available for collection from 9am to 12 noon on Sunday 25 March 2018.

This rule will be strictly observed. No item is to be removed without the Steward’s approval.

If a representative of the exhibitor collects the item a form must be filled out by the representative accepting responsibility for the item. 18. Whilst the Warwick Show & Rodeo Society Inc. accepts NO responsibility for missing or damaged

articles, all possible care will be taken with exhibits. 19. All framed articles must be suitable to hang safely or will not be accepted. 20. All quilts are to have a 4 inch rod pocket attached for hanging, (can be securely pinned using safety pins

only). Quilts will not be accepted without rod pocket in place whether hung or laid for display. 21. Exhibits may be sold following the judging with 15% commission payable to the Warwick

Show & Rodeo Society. You must provide your own for sale sticker and price tag for the item. 22. A limit of three (3) items per class per person. 23. Names and labels on exhibits MUST be covered with a fabric square.

Section A CHALLENGE

Class 1 Cushions - set of three [3] cushions - patchwork, embroidery, smocking, shadow embroidery or combination of techniques - must have inserts in for display

Section B BEADING

Class 2 Necklace and Earings set - Stringing, Weaving or Wirework

Class 3 Bracelet - Stringing, Weaving or Wirework

Class 4 Beaded Article or Garment

Section C CROCHET

Class 5 Baby Rug - any medium - no larger than 100cm x 100cm

Class 6 Table Centre, Tray Cloth or Doiley any medium

Class 7 Tea Cosy - any medium

Class 8 Crochet edging on facewasher or hankerchief

Class 9 I pair of Socks, Slippers, Mittens or Gloves

Class 10 Hat, Beanie, Scarf or Cowl - any two as a set

Class 11 Shawl or Wrap - any medium

Class 12 Soft Toy - any medium

Class 13 Novice - any entry in any of the above categories

Section E EMBROIDERY

Class 14 Assisi - embroidery on an article or garment

Class 15 Wool Embroidery - wool embroidery on a woollen garment or article

Class 16 Crewel Embroidery - any article

Class 17 Blackwork - embroidery on an article or garment

Class 18 Hardanger - embroidery onan article or garment

Class 19 Novice - any entry in any of the above categories

Section H HISTORICAL CLOTHING - MEDIEVAL

Class 19 Viking apron dress or tunic with decorative hand stitching (no machine embroidery)

Class 20 Ladies Gown - pre 1300 Europe

Section J JUNIOR - UNDER 16 YEARS

Class 21 Patchwork - pencil case - must have a zipper closure

Class 22 Patchwork - cushion - front must be pieced and the back include a zipper closure - please have insert in your cushion for display

Class 23 Sewing - a dress or nighty for yourself

Class 24 Sewing - T-shirt and shorts or summer pj's (top and shorts) for yourself

Class 25 Sewing - a novelty item - pin cushion, covered coathanger, cup/mug rug and warmer etc

Class 26 Sewing - soft toy

Section K KNITTING

Class 27 Adult Jumper or Cardigan - wool or wool blend - any ply

Class 28 Hat, Beanie, Scarf or cowl - a set of any two

Class 29 Vest - any size , any ply

Class 30 Knitted Toy - any medium

Class 31 1 x Pair of Socks, Gloves or Mittens

Class 32 Novice - any entry in any of the above categories

Section M MACHINE SEWING

Class 33 Childs Dress / Sun Frock - 4 to 8 years

Class 34 Smocking - Garment - any age/size

Class 35 Heirloom Sewing - Garment made using heirloom sewing techniques, pin tucks, lace insertion etc

Class 36 Babies outfit - under 12 months - Dress, Rompers or Overalls

Class 37 Soft Toy

Class 38 Novelty Item - pin cushion, coat hanger, caserole dish cover etc

Class 39 Novice - any entry in any of the above categories

Class 42 Modern Quilt - MUST have 4" rod pocket for hanging

Class 43 Patchwork / Quilted Table Runner or Centre

Class 44 Patchwork Bag / Purse

Class 45 Novice - any entry in any of the above categories

Section S SPINNING AND FELTING

Class 46 WOVEN Scarf or Shawl from Handspun Wool or Wool Blend

Class 47 Adult Jumper or Cardigan knit or crochet from Hand spun wool or wool blend

Class 48 Shawl or Wrap - knit or crochet hand spun wool or wool blend

Class 49 Scarf and Hat / Beanie set knit or crochet from hand spun wool or wool blend

Class 50 Socks or Mittens / Gloves knit or crochet from hand spun wool or wool blend

Class 51 Nuno felting - any item or garment made using the nuno felting tchnique

Class 52 Small item using the wet felting technique - (hat, slippers, bag etc)

Class 53 Skein of spun fibre with a 10cm (4") square knitted or crocheted sample

Class 54 Novice - any entry in any of the above categories

Section T TAPESTRY - COUNTED THREAD AND CROSS STITCH

Class 55 Tapestry - Picture must be framed or a finished article

Class 56 Cross Stitch Picture - Picture must be framed or a finished article

Class 57 Assisi - Picture must be framed or a finished article
