Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V ABA s Friday Sermon Summary

On 18th of July 2014, Hazrat Khal fatul-Mas h V (MayAllh be his Helper) delivered the Friday Sermon atthe Baitul Fut h Mosque, Morden, London.

Huzoor (May All h be his Helper) recited verses 54-55 of Srah Al-Zumar, gave their translation , which isas follows:.

Say, O My servants who have committed excessesagainst their own souls!

Despair not of the mercy of All h, surely Allh for-gives all sins. Verily He is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

And turn ye to your Lord, and submit yourselves toHim, before there comes unto you the punishment;for then you shall not be helped. (39:54 -55)

And said: God Almighty has given a message of hopeto His servants in various verses of the Holy Qur nsaying He is Most Forgiving and Ever Merciful. Theverses contain the beautiful message that All h is EverMerciful and Gracious towards everyone who, after

having committed sins, is fearful of His punishment.Indeed, God says: O my servants!

Despair not of my mercy, I am the Lord, and I havethe power to forgive you your sins and wrap you inthe raiment of my mercy.

Huzoor (May All h be his Helper) said: Due to thismessage of hope and mercy, despair becomes a sin for

the believers. In fact, the words of mercy from God

Almighty show us the ways to love Him and act uponHis commandments, so that we may continue to re-ceive His blessings by getting ever closer to Him.Therefore, Divine message is like an illuminated pathfor those who have lost their way. It is a message of lifefor those who are spiritually dead. In fact, it is a prom-ise of liberty for the ones who are in the grip of Satan. Therefore, the benevolence and mercy of the Graciousand Merciful God requires that we deepen our love forHim by acting upon His commandments, by attainingnearness to Him, and by trying our level best to put anend to our shortcomings and sinfulness.

Huzoor (May All h be his Helper) said: The teachingsof the Holy Qur n and the traditions of the HolyProphet (saw) inform us that no one is unforgiveable.Hence, everyone can be reformed; everyone can be-come recipient of Divine grace, provided he or shemakes a sincere effort to change himself/herself for thebetter.

Huzoor (May All h be his Helper) presented some tra-ditions of the Holy Prophet (saw) regarding the blessingsand forgiveness of God Almighty and regarding His spe-cial grace that descends during the month of Ramad n.

Huzoor (May All h be his Helper) said: The HolyProphet (saw) said that the first ten days of Ramad n arefilled with Divine mercy; the second ten days containforgiveness and the last ten days grant one deliverancefrom Hell. If we fast during Ramad n doing justice tothe requirements of this sacred month and worshipping

the Almighty God and offering Nawafil to Him, weshall be rewarded with such forgiveness that not onlyour previous sins will be forgiven but also we will ob-tain the ability to shun sinfulness for good.

Huzoor (May All h be his Helper) said: The secondten days of Ramad n are going to end in a day or twoand the last ten days will then begin, which will bringwith them countless blessings because there comes anight in them which is called Laila-tul-Qadr, the nightin which prayers are answered and one witnesses themiracle of ones closeness to God.

Therefore we should pay special attention to prayersand other acts of worship during the last ten days ofRamadn.

Huzoor (May All h be his Helper) said: To shun sinful-ness and stay away from committing sins and to attaindeliverance from Hell, one needs to make a specialeffort. Those of us who are trying to make this Rama-dn the means of obtaining Divine grace and blessingsas well as getting deliverance from Hell, will be trulyfortunate. May we stay away from sins forever andmay we put an end to our shortcomings, and may thisRamadn lead us towards performing the righteousdeeds with greater frequency.

Huzoor (May All h be his Helper) said: We ought topay attention to the true repentance during Ramad n.This will enable us to obtain nearness to God. ThePromised Messiah (AS) said: Repentance, in reality, is asource of great help for the attainment of high morals. And it makes a man perfect, for a person who wantsto bring about a change in his morals and performgood deeds; he must repent with a true heart. There

are three conditions for repentance: the first conditionis to get rid of evil thoughts which cause evil propensi-ties.

The second condition is to show remorse, whichmeans that the person should express remorse overhis sins and evil actions and should ponder over thefact that the pleasure derived from acts of sinfulness isonly fleeting and temporary. The third condition is toinculcate in oneself a firm resolve that he or she willnever revert to the evils they have shunned. If a personadheres to this resolve, God will bestow upon him thestrength for true repentance.

The Promised Messiah (AS) said: Cleanse your actions andbe ever occupied with the remembrance of All h anddo not become heedless... Forever keep repentancealive and never let it die...The weapons through whichwe are going to achieve predominance are Istighfar,Taubah, knowledge of the faith, keeping the greatnessof God in our mind and offering the five daily prayersregularly. Sal t is the key to the acceptance of prayers. When you offer the Sal t, make prayers during it, anddo not be heedless, and safeguard yourself from everyevil whether it be related to the duties owed to Godor to His creatures.

Huzoor (May All h be his Helper) said: May All hmake us among those who truly repent before the Al-

mighty God and may we become the true beneficiariesof all the blessings associated with the month of Rama-dn. m n

Next, Huzoor (May All h be his Helper) spoke of themartyrdom of Muhammad Imtiaz Ahmad Sahib son ofMushtaq Ahmad T hir Sahib of Nawabshah, and the saddemise of Naseer Ahmad Anjum Sahib, Professor of

Jmia Ahmadiyya Rabwah, and Sahibzada Mirz AnwarAhmad Sahib son of Hazrat Musleh Mau dra .

Objectives by Promised Messiah as "The primary purpose of this Convention is to enable every sincere individual to personally experience reli-

gious benefits; They may enhance their knowledge and - due to their being blessed and enabled by Allah,

The Exalted - their perception [of Allah] may progress. Among its secondary benefits is that this congrega-

tional meeting together will promote mutual introduction among all brothers, and it will strengthen the frater-

    nal ties within this Community..."

It is essential for all those who can afford to undertake the journey, that they must come to attend this Con-

vention which embodies many blessed objectives. They should disregard minor inconveniences in the

cause of Allah and His prophet (peace be upon him.). Allah yields reward to the sincere persons at every

step of their way, and no labour and hardship, undertaken in His way, ever goes to waste. I re-emphasize

that you must not rank this convention in the same league as other, ordinary, human assemblies. This is a

phenomenon that is based purely on the Divine Help, for propagation of Islam."

Some Directives For Guests and Workers Of Jalsa Salana

In the light of instructions by Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V ABA

    Purpose of Jalsa Salana

This is NOT A FESTIVAL but a Jama'at convention. Do not think that you are participating in a

festival and do not waste your time in personal meetings or in buying or selling or showing offthe latest fashions.

Greet each other with smiles. If you had any rancour, end them with smiles in these threedays. Secondly, spread the good words and urge others to perform good deeds and tell themto desist from bad practices. After all, that is the prime purpose of Jalsa Salana. Those whocome to attend Jalsa, must participate in it fully and instead of roaming about aimlessly, theyshould derive the maximum benefit from the programme.

Care should be taken that the ladies and the children sit and listen to the Jalsa proceedings

quietly and try to derive the maximum benefit from them.

    Blessing of Jalsa

Ahmadis from the UK should participate in the Jalsa with full zeal and vigour. This is YOURJalsa Salana. Do not be absent without any valid reason. Some people only come for one dayinstead of all three days and then their objective is to meet friends rather than gain the bless-ings of the occasion. If the blessings of Jalsa are kept in mind, then attendance on all threedays is essential. Listen to the speeches and other programmes in silence paying full atten-tion. Do not waste this precious time.

On some rare occasions some local drivers offer a lift to the guest in their car and then de-mand money. This is against the spirit of hospitality and people should refrain from this prac-

To honour and serve our guests should be our aim and we should serve them with love andsincerity and in a spirit of sacrifice.

Guests should remember that all these arrangements are temporary. The volunteers workvery hard to serve the guests, but occasionally if there is any shortfall, it should be overlooked.

If any guests find a shortfall, they should gently draw attention of the workers to it. There is noneed to get angry. The arrangements are large scale and there are bound to be some defi-ciencies. They should be tolerated and overlooked.

Treat your fellow workers with respect and honour; and perform all your duties together in anatmosphere of love and friendship.

The hosts must perform their duties of hospitality in a pleasant manner and continue to do soas long as the hospitality period continues. It is not commendable that the workers disappearimmediately after the Jalsa is over and those in charge are left in embarrassment. Performyour duties diligently and honestly.

Similarly, if the workers find a guest angry, they should apologise politely and try to remove

and solve his difficulty. Remember! you should never speak to your guests harshly or discour-teously.

Remember the etiquette and sanctity of the place in and around the mosque. During the Jalsa, the marquees serve as mosques. Therefore, remember to observe the sanctity of the mosquein these.

Jalsa days should be spent in the rememberance of Allah, reciting 'Durood' (invoking bless-ings of Allah upon His Holy Prophet) and regular performance of Salat. The guests have comefrom far and wide. If they do not perform Salat regularly and at thier appointed times, they willlose the real purpose of their coming to Jalsa. Similarly, in such places as the kitchen where itis difficult for the worker to leave, arrangments should be made so that they can perform theirSalat in their place of duty. This is the responsibility of those who are in charge of those areas.

Sometimes, children start crying during the Salat, this naturally diverts the attention of the oth-ers and spoils their prayers. The parents, whether father or mother, should take the child awayfor the sake of others.

Fathers or mothers with very young children should not try to occupy the front rows duringSalat. They should sit in the back row so that if need be, they can leave.

Please switch off your mobile (handy/cell) phones during the prayers. Some people have thehabit of bringing in their phones and leaving them switched on. When the phones begin ring-ing, it causes a great deal of disturbance to the worshippers.

Some people talk loudly and in querulous tones as a matter of habit or sit in groups and in-dulge in loud laughter. Try to avoid these practices as much as you can during these threedays. In fact avoid these altogether. This is not considered a good habit anyway.

Be mindful of all the discipline and arrangements and co-operate and abide fully with the in-structions given by workers on duty.

During the Jalsa, some children and adults throw litter on the grounds and pathways. Irrespec-tive of whose duty it is, whosoever notices any litter should pick it up and deposit it in the litter-bins or boxes provided for this purpose. Both guests and hosts should keep the site free oflitter.

Ladies are advised that they should take care not to roam around aimlessly. However, thoseladies who are not Ahmadis and do not observe Purdah, they should only be requested to doso. There is no need for force or coercion. If there is some Ahmadi who has a difficulty tocover her face, she should wear minimum and simple make-up. Spread the habit of keepingyour head covered. It should be remembered that we are spending our time in a spiritual envi-ronment during these days. We should not try to find excuses not to observe Purdah. It is adifferent matter if there is a genuine reason. Even then the minimum norms of Purdah shouldbe observed.

Alhamdulillah , another Jami'ah Orientation Camp was held successfully. This time, at a new venue from thatof previous years: Bait-ul-Hadi mosque in Central New Jersey - a fitting venue as it is home to two Jami'ahstudents and numerous future prospects inshaAllah.

The camp was held the day after Jalsa Salana USA on August 18th and ended on August 27th.

A group of Jami'ah students, headed by Hammad Mobeen Sahib, conducted the camp as mentors, teachers, referees, friends, and older brothers.

The goal of the camp was simple: to have the participants of the camp experience and ultimately understandthe day to day life of a Jami'ah student. Participants would begin the day at 5:00 AM with Fajr Prayers, fol-lowed by attendance, announcements for the day, and time for independent recitation of the Holy Quran. Af-terwards, participants had ample time to nap or get ready for the day as breakfast was served at 7:00 AM.Classes would begin promptly at 8:00 AM with subjects including Arabic, Urdu, Ahadith, History of Islam, and

Attributes of Allah all taught by the Jami'ah students. Classes would proceed until 11:00 AM where partici-pants would then have a half hour break for snacks and rest and then continue again at 11:30 AM and end forthe day at 1:30 PM for Zuhr Prayers. Lunch would then be served at 2:00 PM with different items on the menu

including cold cut sub sandwiches, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and even a Barbecue one day - just toname a few.

After lunch, participants would have free time to socialize, play games, rest and catch up on their homeworkfor the day until Asr prayer at 5:45 PM followed by attendance roll call, announcements and a quick snack

AM and broke into groups headed by Jami'ah students and enjoyed the park until 3 PM where everyone metup at a picnic area outside the park for lunch and Zuhr and Asr prayers. They then broke up into the samegroups and headed back to the park for more rides and fun until it was time to head back to the mosque at 7PM for dinner and Maghrib and Isha prayers.

All in all, by the grace of Allah, the Jami'ah Orientation Camp was a huge success. It was enjoyed not onlyby the participants of the camp but by the Jami'ah students, organizers, and volunteers alike. This would nothave been the success it was without the help of the innumerable volunteers and the support of the organiz-ers including, but not limited to, Hafiz Samiullah Sahib and Abdul Nasir Sahib. May Allah accept the effortsput forth by all those who were a part of the camp and bless the mission to spread the message of thePromised Messiah to the corners of the Earth. Ameen!

Alhamdulillah it was a very successful Ijtema in which Waqfeen, Waqfaat and their parents participated. Here are some highlights. This was a combined ijtema of threeregions: Maryland, DC/North Virginia and South Virginia/Richmond. About 15 under -7 Waqfeen and Waqfaat made their presentations. Two group presentations weredone from 18+ Waqfeen and one from 18+ Waqfaat. Respected Maulana NaseemMahdi sahib conducted a Question/Answer session with waqfeen/waqfaat & parentswhich people enjoyed. He also distributed the prizes at the end.

Assistant National Secretary Syed Fazal Ahmad sahib and Reg. Waqfe Nau SecretaryMansoor Ahmed sahib also addressed the waqfeene nau. A new pattern for competi-tions was tried out during this Ijtema. About 70-80 waqfeen and waqfaat attendedthis ijtema along with 25-30 parents.

Overall I believe this ijtema was very helpful to motivate the waqfeen and Waqfat fortheir waqf. May Allah bless all who participated and make them beneficial fruits ofthe Jama`at of the Promised Messiah (AS). Ameen.
