The Washington University Libraries

With more than four million books and holdings, and 12 libraries on three campuses, the University Libraries are

the academic heart of Washington University. The Libraries Annual Fund provides essential resources for the collections, technologies, and services that benefit not only every member of the university community, but the greater St. Louis community as well.

The Goldschmidt Matching Challenge

The Walter and Karla Goldschmidt Foundation, which aims to serve society by encouraging and promoting education, health, art, music, and the betterment of social welfare, has established a generous $100,000 challenge to encourage increased support for the Washington University Libraries Annual Fund.

Here are just a few ways the Libraries will benefit from your participation in the Goldschmidt Challenge:

• Improvements to existing spaces

• Enhanced collections

• New technologies in support of student and faculty research

• Educational programming

• Additional, staff-supported services for students

How the Challenge Works

The Goldschmidt Foundation Matching Challenge will match all gifts and multi-year commitments designated to the Washington University Libraries Annual Fund, up to $100,000. Alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends are eligible to participate, and all gifts will support the goals of Leading Together: The Campaign for Washington University.
