1 BudgetNo available donors or insuffi cient funding

No renovation or smaller scale plan

3 3 9 Cheaper alternatives None

2Floor can't support added weight

Added weight of rolling shelves and moving the printing presses

Floor collapse 2 3 6 Find out building specsImplement lighter-weight plan, or bolster the floor supports

Project scale is too largeDetrimental to library use

3 2 6 Smaller project scaleBuild in stages over multiple Summers

4Damage to archival materials during renovation

Movement of materialsDamage to materials

2 3 6Provide detailed instructions to renovation crew

None

5Library infrastructure does not support required equipment

Doorways too small, elevator not rated for enough weight etc…

Longer renovation time to find work-around

2 2 4Smaller/ lighter construction materials

Find work-around

6Environment gets too noisy for second floor

Too many peopleInterferes with solitary work
