Millwood Trail • • • Short trail: Grade: Easy 1km (0.75 miles), 45 mins Long trail: Grade: Moderate 2.5km (1.5 miles), 1 hour A short introduction to the forest as you walk under the Go Ape course and alongside some of the oldest trees at Grizedale (many over 100 years old). Carron Crag Trail • • • Grade: Strenuous 5km (3 miles), 2 hoursAim for the highest point in Grizedale (314m). See how many art works you can spot and enjoy a well-earned picnic at the top whilst enjoying panoramic views of the Lake District.
Ridding Wood Trail • • • Grade: Easy access surfaced trail 1.5 km (1 mile), 45 mins The shortest and easiest trail at Grizedale through some unusual and ornate trees as well as beautiful oak woodland.
Grizedale Tarn Trail • • • Grade: Moderate 5.5km (3.5 miles), 2 hours There are over twenty man-made tarns in Grizedale. Discover Grizedale Tarn, the only natural tarn in the forest.
Silurian Way • • • Grade: Strenuous 16km (10 miles), 5 hours The ultimate Grizedale walk! A grand tour of the forest with many different artworks and views along the way.
Bogle Crag Trail • • • Short trail: Grade: Moderate 4km (2.5 miles), 1½ hours Long trail: Grade: Moderate 5km (3 miles), 2 hours The iconic artwork ‘Taking a Wall for a Walk’ by Andy Goldsworthy, created in 1990, is well worth a visit on this trail.
High Bowkerstead Trail • • • Short trail: Grade: Strenuous 4km (2.5 miles), 1½ hours Long trail: Grade: Strenuous 6.5km (4 miles), 2½ hours A steep climb to a spectacular viewpoint.See ‘Last Rays of an English Rose’ by Keir Smith along the way.
Machell's Coppice Trail • • • Grade: Strenuous 2.5km (1.5 miles), 1 hour A short walk with views over Coniston Water, the lake famous for the Bluebird water speed record.
