waiver, release and hold harmless agreement
Please read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and par-
ticipating in Village of Spring Grove Recreation Department Programs, you will
be waiving and releasing all claims for injuries arising out of these programs, that
you or the other named participants might sustain. The terms “I”, “me”, and “my”
also refer to parents or guardians as well as participants in the programs. In regis-
tering for these programs, you are agreeing as follows:
As a participant in these programs, I recognize acknowledge that there
are certain risks of physical injury, and I agree to assume full risk of any injuries,
damages or loss which I may sustain as a result of participation in any manner, in
any and all activities connected with or associated with such programs. I further
recognize and acknowledge that all athletic activities involving strenuous exertion
or potential body contact are hazardous recreational activities and involve substan-
tial risks of injury.
I agree to waive and relinquish any and all claims I may have as a result
of participating in these programs against the Villages, and any and all other par-
ticipating servants and employees of the governmental bodies and independent
contractors, and any and all other persons and entities, of whatever nature, that
might be directly or indirectly liable for any injuries that I might sustain while
participating in these programs. (The parties described in the preceding sentence
are referred to as “released parties” in the remainder of this agreement.)
I do hereby fully release and discharge the Villages and the other released
parties from any and all claims for injuries, damage or loss, which I may have or
which may accrue to me on account of my participation in these programs.
I further agree to indemnify, hold harmless and defend the Villages and
any and all other released parties, from any and all claims resulting from injuries,
damages, losses sustained by anyone, and arising out of or connected with, or in
any way associated with my conduct and the activities of these programs.
I further understand and agree that the terms such as “participation”,
“programs” and “activities”, referred to in this Agreement, include all exercises
and physical movements of any nature while I am participating in these programs
and further include the provision of or failure to provide proper instruction or su-
pervision, the use and adjustment of any and all machinery, equipment, and appa-
ratus, and anything related to my use of the services, facilities, or premises in-
volved in these programs, and transportation to and from any events. I understand
the nature of these programs for which I am registering, and have read and fully
understand this Waiver, Release, and Hold Harmless Agreement. I further under-
stand that any advertisements or warning of the particular risk of these programs
that I subsequently receive will be introduced by reference into and become part of
this agreement.

How to register 1. Read and complete the waiver and registration form.
2. The registration form must be signed and dated to be considered com-
plete.
3. Detach the registration form.
4. Return the completed form:
a. in the mail to either village hall.
b. to the mail slot at either village hall.
c. in-person at either village hall.
Registration Payment You may pay the registration fee by cash, check or credit card. If paying by
check, make the check payable to the Village of Spring Grove.
Late Registration/Registration Deadline There is a registration deadline for each program posted in the information
section. Each registration deadline helps to ensure that the program will run
efficiently for all participants and programmers involved. Please register on or
before the registration deadline. In some cases, registration is still accepted
after the program deadline; however, there will be a late fee of $10 added to
the original fee.
Non-resident Fee A non-resident is anyone who does not reside within the corporate limits of the
Village of Spring Grove, Village of Richmond, Richmond or Burton Town-
ship. Check the program information section to see if a non-resident fee is
applied.
Refunds Refunds will be given for all programs that are cancelled by the Recreation
Department. Refunds are processed through the Village of Spring Grove Ad-
ministrative Department and may take 4-6 weeks to be mailed to you.
Age Age is determined by the age as of June 1st for the year the program occurs.
Grade is determined by the grade the child is entering for the year the program
occurs.

Special Concerns In the event of an emergency, if I cannot be reached and with the judgment of the recreation staff mem-
bers, hospital attention is necessary, I authorize recreation program staff members to call the Rescue

mighty mites t-ball
This one-day-a-week, five-week program is the beginning level for your
‘rising star’! Kids hit off the tee, run the bases and play different positions,
not including catcher. No scores are kept as the goal is to just have fun while
learning the fundamentals of the game. Team t-shirt and hat included in the
fee. Volunteer coaches are needed for this league. (1/2 hour practice followed
by a 1/2 hour game)

mini kickers Mini Kickers is an exciting five-week weekday morning skills camp, this
camp will teach basic soccer skills while developing strength, balance, coordi-

be no camp June 24th.

This program will help young athletes increase their athletic skills while provid-
ing whole body strength and conditioning. The training focuses on proper run-
ning mechanics, reaction time, coordination, core strength, flexibility , foot-
work, and first step quickness/.
The youth athletic trainers are passionate, educated and experienced! The group
training atmosphere in this program adds fun and friendly competition!

New to Spring Grove Recreation! Art Camp!
July 13 – 17 Animal Art - Campers will explore animals and habitats from
around the world and celebrate what make each animal unique through a variety
of art-making processes. From our favorite pets to predators - all animals are
welcome!
July 20 - 24 Art About Nature - Each day at camp will have a different nature
theme and all of the activities will relate to the theme of the day. Some of the
great projects for the week where we’ll paint, draw, and create may include bird-
houses, garden mosaics, and bark art.
July 27 - 31 Dragons and Mid-evil Life Art - Travel around the World learning
ancient myths and legends. Create your art from Chinese dragons, winged ser-
pents, Knights and Princesses from King Arthur’s Court.

This popular summer program involves children going on field trips includ-
ing: Glacial Park, Fire and Police Departments, Raymond’s Bowl, Layton
Athletics and Timber Ridge Water Park. Children will also have special
event days at Horse Fair Park. This camp meets on both Mondays and
Wednesdays. Children will design a camp t-shirt. Schedule below and also at

Learn to ride in style while becoming part of something special that only
horses can offer! Krussell Stables is a climate controlled state of the art eques-
trian facility that specializes in the English Saddleseat riding discipline. This
riding style is safe, high energy and fun for all ages. Whether you want to ride
for pleasure or become an equestrian athlete they offer specialized instruction
tailored to meet each rider’s individual goals. Helmets are provided and must
be worn, along with long pants and leather boots with a heel or tennis shoes.
Horseback Riding Programs – Youth Ages 8-17
Krussell Stables is an elite equestrian center in Northern Illinois offering both
recreational and competitive team programs that develop amazing athletes.
Their focus is to provide children with a positive and safe environment where
they can feed their passion for horses and horsemanship continually building
self esteem, self-control, strength, balance and respect for themselves and for
animals. Each new rider goes through an evaluation on their first lesson, then
the parents and child can select the path of recreational riding or competitive
team riding. The Krussell Stables Staff will then develop an individualized
program for each rider to meet their goals in their weekly lessons.

Just for our littlest horse lovers! Tiny Tot Day Camp is designed to be a great
first introduction to the world of horses for the very tiniest of riders. Tiny Tot
camp offers activities especially designed for the young rider, as well as pro-
viding a low child to instructor ration. Campers will take part in all aspects of
horse care as well as receive one daily ride and have a little time for “horsey
play” too! Each camp session concludes with a mini horse show so parents
can see everything that was learned during the week. See Chart on Page 7

The camp will focus on developing basketball skills and your player’s knowl-
edge of the game. The first half of the practice will focus on skills and funda-
mentals. The second half of the practice, the kids will play full-court pick-up

Bulls Eye! Join our Archery class and learn how to shoot a bow and arrow.
Archers will spend time learning about equipment, shooting at targets and par-
ticipating in archery-based activities. All equipment will be supplied by

introduction to fly fishing
This is a great beginner’s course for anyone interested in fly fishing. You’ll
learn about terminology, equipment for different species and situations, flies
and how to fish them, plus different fishing techniques and casts. You will get
to compare equipment across different levels of quality and price range. Eve-
ryone will practice the basic forward cast. Students not wishing to actually
catch fish during the practice session may want to practice one of the more
advanced casts the instructor will demonstrate. Students wishing to catch fish
will need a valid Illinois license. Although all equipment will be provided, if
you have your own fly rod setup, please bring it to class. You may want to use
it during the practice session, and the instructor can give you feedback and
pointers on its characteristics and use. Participants will be able to: Define the major fly fishing terms.
Identify the different kinds of flies and state how to fish them.
Identify all equipment components and rod, reel, and line characteristics.
Choose appropriate balanced equipment for given fish species and fly fishing
situations.
Describe the different fly fishing techniques.
Identify the different kinds of casts, perform the basic forward casts.

advanced fly fishing This is a great course for individuals who have mastered the basic forward
cast to the extent of being able to consistently cast at least 30 feet. This class
will cover the balanced equipment selection in much more greater detail then
the introductory class. You will get one-on-one instruction on much more
difficult, advanced casting. Although all equipment will be provided, if you
have your own fly rod setup , please bring it. Students wishing to catch fish
will need a valid Illinois license. License not required for class June 9th.
Given a mix of various rods, reels, and basic fly lines, create balanced systems for
different fly fishing situations.
Choose specialized fly lines with the appropriate line tapers and other characteris-
tics for different fly fishing situations.

tennis lessons
Grab your racket and come learn to play tennis! No need to worry about the
weather - lessons are taught indoors. Instruction will be directed to providing
students with a foundation of technique, strategy and a better understanding and
appreciation of the game. Instructions will focus on fine-tuning shot mechanics
and the use of proper shot selection and strategy for success. Lessons are
taught on individual instruction. Bring your own rackets or we have some rack-
ets that can be used. Wear tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. Each class will
last one hour.

a PGA professional. Lessons will be held on both the range and around the
green. Your child will learn techniques, skills and etiquette in this clinic.
Your child will also receive instruction from the “EXPLAINER” a revolution-
ary training aide. End of the session pizza party and Pro-Circle hat included.
