Personal Development, Health and Physical Education Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) is one of the six key learning areas of the NSW primary curriculum. Our school’s PDHPE program aims to help our students develop and lead healthy, active and fulfilling lives. Our school’s PDHPE program covers a wide range of education matter, including relationships, drug use, human sexuality, child protection, fundamental movement skill development, safety and physical activity. Some of the content of the program deals with sensitive issues. The school recognises this by teaching about these issues within the context of a developmentally appropriate program and by providing information to you about the program. The PDHPE program aims to encourage students to make informed decisions about their lifestyle taking into account the values of the family, culture and religion to which they belong. The school program will be implemented in a manner that supports the role of parents and caregivers, and reflects the ethos of the school community. We follow units either provided or endorsed by The Department of Education NSW which are taught across the state. An overview of some of the content of the PDHPE program is provided below.

Students had transformed a chosen narrative poem into a 12-page picture book, utilising a range of mediums including drawing, painting and computer programs. The Year 7 students received praise, as well as some constructive feedback, for their work from the attentive Kindergarten and Year 1 audience.
In the Spotlight:
Our new Assistant Principal Name: Mr Mitchell McNeill I started teaching at Wadalba: 2 weeks ago! Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming. This year I teach: RFF My favourite colour is: Green My favourite food is: Mushrooms My favourite book is: This is a hard one as I have loved so many books but there are two that stand out. The first was reading The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien when I was about 14. My Year 5 teacher read me the second book and I re-read it with my class last year. It is an autobiography called A Fortunate Life by Albert Facey. My favourite movie is: Another hard one but probably the original three Star Wars movies. My favourite subject when I was in school was: Maths My favourite subject to teach at school is: I like all subjects but I guess my favourites are maths, technology and music. My family is: my beautiful wife Kayla and my three children Ella (10), Lily (7) and Jax (4). I also have a dog and some fish. I love teaching because: Well my daughters say that I’m a big kid so that’s why I became a teacher, to hang out with kids all day. Actually though, I think teaching is an important profession that can have a significant positive impact on the lives of children, their families and society generally. If I could travel anywhere in the world it would be: I’d love to travel through South America or Africa.
