PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project will construct an overpass to separate the Leach Highway from Welshpool Road and upgrade the Leach

Highway Bridge over rail south of the proposed Welshpool interchange.

Related/complementary projects

The Australian Government has committed $183 million to Tonkin Highway Interchanges, which includes an at grade

separation interchange at Welshpool Road and Tonkin Highway.

PROBLEM

The intersection of Leach Highway and Welshpool Road are critical access points to the Perth Airport precinct. A high level

of congestion and crashes are experienced at this intersection.
