TRIO/ETS: The Educational Talent Search (ETS) program at UNLV is funded by the U.S. Department of Education for the purpose of increasing the number of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in and complete their postsecondary education. The ETS program works with students in grades 7th through the 12th. ETS also encourages individuals who have not completed education programs at the secondary or postsecondary level to enter or reenter and complete postsecondary education.
Typically, ETS students are first generation potential college students (neither parent received a four-year college degree) with limited income and a strong desire to attend college. Our participants receive a wide range of free services and participate in scholastic, cultural and enrichment activities.
ETS counselors provide services to TRIO students at various target schools within Clark county School District. Staff members work collaboratively with the school administration, counselors, teachers, parents, and community organizations throughout the school year.
Logan Estrada, a student in Animation I, created a CTE poster for the CTE Month. The poster was of several that were created by students to be displayed on campus.
