We also had a funeral Mass at our parish on Friday, January 2 nd for Charles (Chuck) Chrenko who died on December 29 th . Chuck and his wife, Judy, moved to Florida from Elberta about a year and a half ago, but were both present for our Christmas Mass just 4 days before Chuck passed. Clariza Rawls lost her daughter, Michelle Rawls, who was buried last Tuesday. And Walter Cummings passed recently and was buried at Barrancas in Pensacola. Let us keep all of their families in our prayers. Other than Walter, all of the above were buried in our Prince of Peace Cemetery. Thanks again to everyone for the prayers and the outpouring of sympathy at the time of my mother’s death. The blessing of family (natural and supernatural) and her readiness to go to meet the Lord, has made her passing much more joyful than sorrowful. The grace of God permeated the entire process, especially her last moments on earth. May the above souls, and all of the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace. Dear Parish Family,

Over the past two weeks we have experienced a number of people passing from this life. With heartfelt condolences to all of their

families… Margaret Klein died early last Sunday morning, December 28th. Her funeral Mass was celebrated last Wednesday, December

31st. We also had a funeral Mass at our parish on Friday, January 2nd for Charles (Chuck) Chrenko who died on December 29th. Chuck

and his wife, Judy, moved to Florida from Elberta about a year and a half ago, but were both present for our Christmas Mass just 4 days

before Chuck passed. Clariza Rawls lost her daughter, Michelle Rawls, who was buried last Tuesday. And Walter Cummings passed

recently and was buried at Barrancas in Pensacola. Let us keep all of their families in our prayers. Other than Walter, all of the above were

buried in our Prince of Peace Cemetery.

Thanks again to everyone for the prayers and the outpouring of sympathy at the time of my mother’s death. The blessing of family

(natural and supernatural) and her readiness to go to meet the Lord, has made her passing much more joyful than sorrowful. The grace of

Parish Announcements.

Adoration begins again this Thursday Jan. 8th . The following hours

need a regular Adorer: Thursday 10:00—11: 00 AM & 3:00—4:00

PM and Friday 12:00-1:00 & 1:00-2:00 AM. If you would like to

take one of these or sign-up to substitute, please call or email

Paulette or Fr. Dean.

Burse Club All-Occasion cards are available for a suggested

donation of $5. Paulette has them in the office. The recipient is

remembered in a special Mass at Saint Bernard Abbey each day.

CCD resumes this Sunday, January 4th between the Masses. This is

also the Sunday when the pre-school classes meet. Come and start

the New Year right.

The Confirmation Program begins this Sunday, January 4th in the

Parish Hall after the 9:00 AM Mass. Please come if you are going to

be confirmed.

Greetings from the youth director!

What a wonderful Christmas celebration we had! I hope all of you reading this had a great time with your families and friends over the holiday, but remember, the Christmas season is still going on. As we move into the new year, the youth group will continue to meet on Sundays and Wednesdays, and we will continue to invite all middle school and high school students to join us. All are invited to come and share a meal and good fel-lowship together, please invite your friends to come and see. We have a game night this upcoming Friday, January 9th, from 6:00-8:00 PM. Please send me an email to receive a liability release form for this event. Confirmation classes begin today, so please make sure to come to class after the 8:00 AM Mass if you are seeking confirmation (high school sophomores and juniors). Please pray for all the pilgrims who are going on the “March for Life” this month, and know that y'all are in my pray-ers as well.

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will take place

before both Sunday Masses on January 11th, starting at

7:30 AM & 10 AM.

Annual Celebration of Marriage - January 10, 2015 -

St. Lawrence Parish Married couples are invited to an enriching and romantic

candlelight dinner. Wine social will begin at 6:30 PM, followed by a Beef Tenderloin dinner served by Rob

Berglin Catering with guest speakers Ben and Kristen

Clapper. The evening will end with the renewal of vows. Space is limited. Advance registration is required.

Childcare will be provided for pre-registered children.

Dorothy Azar Dean (1934-2014)

Dorothy “Dottie” Azar Dean, departed this life on Dec. 22,

2014. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama on Oct. 13,

1934, and was the 11th of 12 children born to Zaki and Mary

Azar. She lived in Montgomery all of her life. She graduated

from St. Mary’s of Loretto (now Montgomery Catholic

Preparatory School) in 1952. She was married to Richard

Dean, Sr., for 30 years until his death in 1989. She was

preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as her

siblings, Joseph Azar, Catherine Reickenback, Emma McElvy,

Margaret Clark, Edward Azar, Dodie Pappanastos, Zack Azar,

Jr., and Helen Boman. She is survived by her children, Richard

Dean, Jr. (Laura), Father James Dean, and Barry Dean, as well

as her grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Dean, Ann Marie Dean,

Cary Dean and David Dean and brothers, George (Celeste)

Azar, Tommy (Ruth) Azar and Jimmie (Linda) Azar as well as

many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was a lifelong member of St. Bede Parish. She worked at

the City of St Jude for over 30 years until she retired in 2004.

A Rosary will be said on Dec. 26, at 4:30 PM., at Leak-Memory

Chapel, followed by visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00PM. A

funeral Mass will be held on Sat., Dec. 27, at 10:00 AM, at St.

Bede Catholic Church, located on Atlanta Highway.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Counseling Out-

reach for Pregnancy Emergency (COPE), which is located at

2158 Madison Ave., Montgomery, AL .36107
