Gratitude
Let gratitude for the past inspire us
with trust for the future.

Dear Parish Family,
Today is the feast of Christ the King and in a special Mass with the Archbishop at the Cathedral, each parish has a member who
will receive an award to honor their contribution to their parish. From the many worthy candidates, Jill Byerley is our parish award
winner. A few of the contributions Jill has made this year: she and Bill are the coordinators for the care of the sanctuary, Jill built a beautiful
boat for VBS and she volunteers her talent as a cantor for the Saturday vigil Mass and the Tuesday evening Mass (simultaneously playing a
musical instrument and oftentimes writing the music for the Tuesday Psalm)! Jill represents our parish in receiving this award but is by no
means alone in the great work being done by our many volunteers. Thank you to all of you who put in countless hours building up the
Kingdom of God here at St. Bartholomew!
Robyn Kaechele and Chase Kendrick were married last Saturday evening! Please keep them in your prayers – that they may enjoy
a holy marriage that gives witness of God’s faithful and sacrificial love to a world greatly in need of it.
Through less than 2 days of the Super Raffle e-mail campaign, we have raised about $2,000. But we need YOUR help. I sent
the e-mail to a number of parishioners. Please send it out to your family and friends!! If you do not have the e-mail, please e-mail Afton or
myself and we will send it to you. This project will bear some great fruit for our Youth Program if we all pitch-in in this very small way!
Due to travel and the general unavailability of Adorers, we will not have Adoration on the following Thursdays: Thanksgiving,
Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Next Sunday begins our new Church Year… do you have any spiritual New Year’s resolutions that you are prepared to implement
in your life? If not, you still have time to think of some! (suggestion: signing up for weekly Adoration would be a good one!)
In Christ, our King,
Father James Dean

Youth Group News
Greetings from the youth director! This past week was a big one for the youth group, we had a movie night on Friday and an evening of praise and worship on Wednesday. Both were a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to more youth group events like these coming up in December. Speaking of which, we need throwable items for the Elberta Christmas parade! If you would like to donate candy or small Christmas-themed toys to throw from the youth group's float, please drop those off at the parish office this week. We really appreciate it if you can help! As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to let y'all know about some dates coming up: There will be no youth group on Wednesday, November 26th because it falls so close to Thanksgiving. There will also be no youth group on Wednesday, December 24th for Christmas Eve, but we will have our youth Christmas party on that previous Sunday, December 21st. I hope y'all have a great Thanksgiving week! Please get in touch with me if you have questions. In Christ, Stephen Sylvester
Parish Release
Saint Benedict Catholic School
November 18, 2014 Students at St. Benedict are taking their musical
talents to the stage. At SBCS, the Christmas
program is a musical performed by Middle
Schoolers. This year, the musical is The First Leon, which is about
a young man who desperately wants a part in the Christmas
pageant, but who is greatly lacking in acting ability. Because of
circumstances, he ends up as the innkeeper who must turn Mary
and Joseph away, however he cannot find it in his heart to leave
them in the cold. He shows compassion, by inviting Mary and
Joseph to share his room, and becomes an example of Jesus’
love. Each class from Kindergarten through grade five has their
own song to perform during the musical, while middle schoolers
not onstage become the choral backup. This program, to be
presented on December 11th at 6:00 PM, is a wonderful all-school
experience that we look forward to each year.
Choir News…
