Youth Group News

Greetings from the youth director! This past week was a big one for the youth group, we had a movie night on Friday and an evening of praise and worship on Wednesday. Both were a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to more youth group events like these coming up in December. Speaking of which, we need throwable items for the Elberta Christmas parade! If you would like to donate candy or small Christmas-themed toys to throw from the youth group's float, please drop those off at the parish office this week. We really appreciate it if you can help! As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to let y'all know about some dates coming up: There will be no youth group on Wednesday, November 26th because it falls so close to Thanksgiving. There will also be no youth group on Wednesday, December 24th for Christmas Eve, but we will have our youth Christmas party on that previous Sunday, December 21st. I hope y'all have a great Thanksgiving week! Please get in touch with me if you have questions. In Christ, Stephen Sylvester

Parish Release

Saint Benedict Catholic School

November 18, 2014 Students at St. Benedict are taking their musical

talents to the stage. At SBCS, the Christmas

program is a musical performed by Middle

Schoolers. This year, the musical is The First Leon, which is about

a young man who desperately wants a part in the Christmas

pageant, but who is greatly lacking in acting ability. Because of

circumstances, he ends up as the innkeeper who must turn Mary

and Joseph away, however he cannot find it in his heart to leave

them in the cold. He shows compassion, by inviting Mary and

Joseph to share his room, and becomes an example of Jesus’

love. Each class from Kindergarten through grade five has their

own song to perform during the musical, while middle schoolers

not onstage become the choral backup. This program, to be

presented on December 11th at 6:00 PM, is a wonderful all-school

experience that we look forward to each year.

Choir News…

continue on Thursdays from 5:00-6:00 PM.

Important to the future of our Church and community. We welcome you to come be a part of this blessed endeavor! Contact St. Benedict Principal, Jaivi Howell, for more information at 251-986-8143.
