There is a lot going on right now in Plumas County. Many of our residents have been displaced due to the fires, the smoke is filling our valleys, and we are still living under the cloud of COVID-19. As for the fires, many of us have evacuated a time or two over the years and know what to do to prepare. When COVID-19 landed in the US last year, it was the first time most of us had to deal with a global pandemic. It was unclear what we needed to do to keep ourselves, our families, and our community safe. Now that there is more data on COVID-19, we are much more prepared against this virus. We know that protective measures such as face coverings, social distancing, testing when symptoms are present, and limiting the people we interact with outside of our home can help reduce the chance of contracting COVID-19. While these actions can limit the possible spread of COVID-19, getting yourself and your household vaccinated against COVID-19 gives the most protection.
