Mission

The Vulcan Survey Ship is

one of the first mass-produced

starships built by the Vulcan

Confederation and is used to

survey surrounding star systems

for various scientific phenomena.

Features

The Survey Ship is equipped with laser

cannons and one fusion missile launcher for

defensive purposes, most often to clear

interplanetary debris. The Survey Ship also

features the latest in Vulcan material sciences,

equipped as it is with hull plating designed to

withstand numerous micrometeorite impacts.

Another marvel featured on the

Survey Ship is its advanced (for its time) ion

drive, allowing the ship to achieve speeds of

.2c at sublight velocities. For interstellar

travel, the ship’s highly experimental warp

drive allows it to travel across an entire light-

year in just 2 months.

Background

The Survey Ship represents the pinnacle

of Vulcan Confederation space technology in the

mid-20th century. In its first decade of service, the

Survey Ship has already catalogued dozens of

new stellar phenomena and made covert scans of

several primitive species within one sector of

Vulcan.
