In winning the Class A title, Squadron two more than doubled second-place C-ls total points. Charles Brown paced the win with a 31.5 first place finish in the 50 meter butterfly. Brown also did the butterfly in the third leg of the medley relay and brought his team from third at .the halfway mark into the lead. C-2 took third while A-l won fourth with Byron Davis win- ning the 100 meter breaststroke. Other first place finishers in Class A were Bruce Baxter of F-l in the 50 meter backstroke and Bob Smith of Squadron 10 in the 100 meter freestyle. John Plotnick of D-2 won the diving. A-2 and Squadron 12 split the relay events in Class B to end in their tie. Squadron 12 won the 200 meter freestyle relay while A-2 won the 200 meter medley relay. William Krell won the 50 meter butterfly for Squadron 12 in 36.8. A-l finished third as Russell Hawkins won the 100 meter breaststroke and they also won second in the medley relay. backstroke in 36.1 while Robert Dwelle won the 100 meter free- style in 1:05.4. Paul Siebum of Squadron 2 won the diving competition. Law Hall was edged by Crocker Hall in a two way race for the Class C championship. Wayne Lutz won the 50 meter Sam Houston Rips Aggies Sam Houston struck for four runs in the first inning and then glided to a 14-1 victory over the Aggies on Kyle Field Tuesday. The Non-conference defeat gave the Aggies a 13-7 record for the season, while Sam Hous- ton is now 16-9 on the year. A&M defeated Sam Houston earlier in the year in Huntsville. Sonny Benefield started the game for the Aggies but gave way to Walter Varvel in the sec- ond and finally to freshman Charles Kelley who finished up.
