OUR NATIONAL PRESIDENT
Joe Daws-Knowles Greetings all fellow NCTer's! This is the first time that I write an article for News to Campers as your newly installed President. I am honoured to be so and to be the first Canadian President of National Camping Travellers. The 2015 National Rally held at Essex Junction in the beautiful State of Vermont was a roaring success. What a fun time it was! It rained occa-sionally but President "Jack" had that all under control because when it rained we just happened to be doing indoor things. "WOW"! What connections!! Being a part of Jack Mulhall's rally team made it all the more interesting as it was a learning experience that I had not had before. It had been a long time since I part of the greeter/parker team. Meeting old and new friends as they arrived, escorting them to their sites and making sure they were safely settled in was a highlight for me. Thanks to all the others members of the team. There is still a lot of work to do over the next year finalizing the 2016 National Rally at Frankfort, New York. However,
the plans are moving along at a good pace. Over the next few months, there will be additional information about the
events planned for 2016. Keep watching your “News to Campers” for updates.
I wish you all good camping for the rest of the 2015 season and may The Good Lord be your co-pilot as you travel down

OUR NATIONAL FIRST VICE-PRESIDENT —
Larry Aylestock A summertime greeting to all my fellow NCT‟ers: Janet and I just arrived home yesterday from the 50th NCT North American Rally at Essex Junction, Vermont. Congratulations to PNP Jack and his rally committee for a very enjoyable gathering. Janet and I are already looking forward to next years‟ rally at Herki-mer County Fairground in Frankfort, New York. Janet and I had the opportunity to meet several NCT‟ers that we had never met, but sure do hope to meet them again. We were unable to attend the Ohio State Rally due to camper problems, but we attended the Pennsylvania State Rally. So far this summer our camping has been somewhat restricted as our son and his family are being transferred from Kodiak, Alaska to North Carolina. We had our 3-year old grandson for 2-weeks and their cat for a month now. Keeps „OLD PEOPLE JUMP-ING‟ ! Janet said she lost over 5-pounds during that time period, but it was great to have him with us for a few days. We are planing to attend the Michigan and New Jersey Rallies before our own West Virginia State Rally scheduled for October 1 - 4 at Holly Gray Park located in Flatwoods, West Virginia. We guarantee a great rally and hope you can attend. Come once and you‟ll be back. I was installed as 1st National Vice President at National. Your Board continues to work to improve NCT and YNCT to make it better reflect the needs of our members. Don‟t be surprised to see additional „By-Laws‟ change pro-posals in the Spring 2016 issue of News To Campers. Return your ballot (VOTE). Last‟s years proposed changes failed by just a very few votes. OUR NATIONAL 2nd VICE PRESIDENT - Doug Buckle
Hello again, from the Great State of Ohio, We made it home safely from Vermont, and I must say, we had a wonderful time at the National Rally in Essex Junction. Was glad to see many old friends, and we missed some of you that didn‟t make it. We made some new ones as well, we had a few first timers and I hope there time was filled with fun and fellowship. Now PNP Jack and his crew did a wonderful job with the Rally, I think I heard in the mid 80's on rigs this year, which is a pretty good turnout but we could have seen a few more of you there. I think we only had just a few kids this year, but they still had a great time. I personally want to say a big Thank You to Ed and Sue Wallace for allowing me to help just a little bit. I think you did a wonderful job, and I hope you are taking a well deserved break, after you got home. Thank all of you for asking about Mom, she is doing better, and said she wished she would have been able to travel and see all of you. Don Burke is back in the hospital as of this writing, he had some additional complications from infection, and was admitted back in Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. For all of you that know Don and Alta, please drop them a card, or send her a message on Face book. I am sure they would love to hear from you. I look forward to work with newly installed 3
rd. VP Ray Greer, I think he has some great ideas that will help NCT grow.

nd place for History Book this year, and Lisa and
I got 2nd
Place in the parade for our 60's look, ( I had to explain to Lisa what the 60's look was). All the entries in the pa-rade was exceptional, I was surprised we got 2
nd.
We are already looking forward to NP Joe‟s rally next year, looks like they have a fun filled week already lined out for us. The presentation was very promising for a wonderful time. You should make plans to attend if at all possible next July. Thank you all for your hard work, and look forward to being able to talk to you again very soon. Our e-mail addresses, mailing addresses and phone numbers are in the directory. Without your „in-put‟ and communications, we don‟t know what you may want. Last year‟s Board, 2014-15, was very active. We had several conference calls during the time between the National Rallies and thereby were able to address issues during the year in a timely manner. OUR NATIONAL SECRETARY/TREASURER - David Fant
I finally recovered from the 2015 National Rally (although I am still not unpacked). What a great Rally it was. Kudos to all those who worked to make this a success—especially the Rally Chairman, Bob Coates.
I really want to thank all the Chapter Secretaries for getting the infor-mation regarding officer changes into me promptly - also the dues trans-mittal forms and the audit reports as well. If you still have one or two of the outstanding reports to submit, please send them in as soon as possi-ble. I know that some chapters have a problem collecting some of the dues from members who camp only infrequently, but please don‟t hold up the dues of those who paid on time for the few who don‟t. Dues are due on July 1, not December 31. Don‟t risk having someone dropped by not sending in their dues.
Congratulations to Donna Cook, secretary of the Kansas Jayhawks for receiving Secretary of the Year. The decision was a difficult one for the committee, In my mind all the Secretaries deserve a gold star for the work they do. Their constant work and correspondence with the National Office is what makes this organization run smoothly. With out their work and help, I could not do my job. Again congratulations to Donna and all the others.

OUR NEW WEB SITE At the 2015 Rally a new web design was authorized. The designers are already hard at work developing a new
modern web page. It will have places for the schedule of campouts, with the ability to make changes. A generic reser-vation form that can be used if the chapters wish. It is also planned to have a secured members only section where we hope to be able to place our directory and other manuals and forms. It will also have photos and other information that will appeal to those non-members who might be browsing as an attempt to get their interest in NCT. Keep your eye out for it on www.gonct.org The board will be reviewing it as it is developed. Our target is to have it up and running within the next couple of months.

Can you believe that the 50th National Rally is already behind
us? I‟d like to thanks those who voted in the 2015 NCT elec-tion and give a special thanks to those who vote for me as 3
rd
VP. (Okay, so I ran unopposed) My duties, according to the Operations Manual, are to chair NCT‟s National Membership Committee. I have several initiatives dealing with member-ship which we will be addressing. The first thing that I was going have the committee work on was developing a new website for www.gonct.org that would be more appealing to potential new members. Looks like the “Old” Board beat me to the punch as they have already contracted to have a new website developed. It is hoped that the new website will be live by the time you read this article. I will ask the Board to consider creating a new National Director‟s position of Web-master who would be responsible to keep the new site cur-rent. The 2
nd thing that the Membership Committee will look
at is developing a cleaner, more inviting, membership application. From there, we will work on a new National Bro-chure and possibly a power point presentation that can be used by Chapters to promote our organization within the Ma-sonic Fraternity. I would encourage all Chapters to attend & participate in area Masonic Events. Be sure to wear you vests! Do you have an NCT Decal on your camper? Have ideas of how to encourage masons to join? OUR PAST NATIONAL PRESIDENT—— Jack Mullhal Dear Fellow NCTers, Thank you all for a making this a great year of be-ing President, for 4 years of being a National Officer, and 20 years of being a member of National Camping Travel-ers. We have so enjoyed traveling the country, visiting with so many Districts, Chapters, and Members. There are still a few areas that we haven't been able to coordi-nate schedules with yet, but we hope to make it sometime soon. Our 50
th Anniversary National Rally in Essex
Junction, Vermont, was a lot of fun and a great way to launch us into our next 50 years. I won't start naming names for fear that I leave someone out, but there were several people that played key rolls in the planning, setup, and running of the Rally to make it a success. The one person I must mention is Bob Coates, along with his wife Marianne. We have so enjoyed spending time with them, on the phone and traveling to the Champlain Valley Expo Center several times to organize the Rally plans. They have become part of our extended family, as have several other of the key workers. Most importantly, thank you to everyone that came, pitched in, participated and had fun. Now as a Past President I will be serving on the Board for 2 more years. I am pleased to be part of this group that is working hard to prepare us for another 50 years. I wish I could be around to help celebrate our 100
th anniversary.
It will be us, the members, that will ensure our continued success. We may be small but as we heard from our National Secretary, Dave Fant, we are strong and have seen growth recently. Our excitement and enthusiasm will give the or-ganization what is needed to keep our members active and interested, and attract new Masonic camping families. At the same time, don't forget our members that can no longer camp, and our Widows. Help them to continue to be part of our organization and Masonic family. Please join me in wishing our new President, Bro. Joe Daws-Knowles, the best as we launch ourselves into the start of our second half century. Again, thanks for a great time as your President. Hello Again ! I'm back. I‟ve agreed to continue as your National Historian for another year and will bring some of the display to New York for those who could not come to Essex Junction. Everyone seemed to enjoy the slide show. I thank Dave Fant for running the equipment and thank those who contributed memorabilia for the display. PAST NATIONAL YNCT PRESIDENT Katrina Mauk
The 2015 rally in Essex Junction, Vermont was action packed for the Ynct.
Our week started off Monday with the pet parade. Thank you to Mrs. Joan for helping us and to everyone that entered their pets; they were all so adorable! We also had our Chuck Wagon that afternoon and I would like to personally say thank you to everyone that helped the youth with it. The next day, Tuesday, we made our way to Jay Peak Water Park which I have to say was worth the drive. We had so much fun racing on the water slides and relaxing on the lazy river. The water park was definitely one of the highlights of our week. Tuesday night we got up to some mischief. Some of you may have woken up the next morning with a newly decorated camper. We had a lot of fun tee-peeing and trying very hard to be quiet and sneaky. The next day we had our carwash and talent show. Once again, thank you to everyone who helped us with our car wash and a really special thank you to Art Spencer who helped us with the beautiful song we all sang together at the end of our talent show. Thursday was Installation where Alex Maserati was installed as president of Ynct and Gabby Mosher as secretary. I know they will both do an amazing job next year! This rally was a great learning experience for me. I learned a lot about leadership and working together as a group. I know we all made friendships that are sure to last a lifetime. I wouldn‟t trade anything for the experience of being Ynct President. I will truly miss it, but I know Alex will do an amazing job! Lastly, I must say thank you again to everyone who helped the youth at all during our week and especially my grandparents, Ed and Sue Wallace, for helping us. Anniversary Essex Junction Ver-mont YNCT News
The first day I arrived, the grounds were very big and clean. Once we pulled in threw the gates we met a man named Jeremey (administrator). He was a very nice man. Once we (The Coates) got settled in on a beauti-ful sight next to Mr. and Mrs. Mulhall, I rode my bike around to check out the grounds and found it very nice. Later on in the day Kaitlynn arrived and we played games and talked about different ideas about the rally. While we were playing games the Howards arrived. As much as Mr. Howard new I was going to bother him, he didn‟t know what to expect so I decided to fill foam balls with water and throw them at him while he was hooking up the hoses, and that was fun! The next few days Alex, Katrina and Madelyn ar-rived. We just talked about the YNCT and what the plans were for the week. Our activities were going to the water park at witch we had a great time! Between our busy schedule we played games and as usual we “TP‟d” . We offered a blue ribbon for those who did NOT want to get “TP‟d”. The next day we had to set up for the Chuck Wagon witch went well. The food was very good and many people came back for seconds. After the Chuck Wagon we had the car wash. At the car wash we had many cars and we even had to wash a scooter! Next up on our list was the talent show. We had many acts, we got many compliments and everyone loved it! The boat cruise was amazing, the dinner was great. It was a nice Italian

2015 officers and we are already looking forward toward next year. If you are interested in running for a Na-
tional Office or know someone who you think would be a good candidate, please submit your information to
the National Secretary. If you have any questions about what the different offices require, please contact any
officer or call the National office. We will gladly talk with you about any position you may be interested in
discussing. If you need the forms, we will forward the required forms to you for completion.
Remember all nominations must be received by the National Office by December 1, 2015.

Our North Shore Extended (6 day) Campout started in Moose Lake on Friday. That‟s not quite to the North Shore, but due to Grandma‟s Marathon (a national event fort marathoners), all of the North Shore campgrounds were full. Most of our seven rigs went agate hunting Saturday morning. Jack, rock hound, McKenna found a good one. Sunday we headed for Two Harbors and all kinds of fun things to do, starting with a visit to Split Rock Lighthouse, a restored lighthouse on Lake Superior and supper at Betty‟s Pies, one of the classic stops for all North Shore visitors. Monday we had a tour of Glensheen, the mansion home of iron ore magnet, Chester Congdon and a tour of the Cirrus airplane factory, followed by a visit to the ore docks and harbor lighthouse. The day ended with a campfire. Tuesday, three rigs headed home for various reasons, with the others headed for Grand Marais and the Gunflint Trail that leads to the Boundary Waters Wilderness Area. Thirty five miles further north we saw the High Falls of the Pigeon River, the highest waterfall in Minnesota, on the border with Ontario, and later a spectacular view of Lake Superior. After a day of shopping on Satur-day, we had a HUGH campfire in the evening as Don Cochrane didn‟t want to carry any wood back home with him. A great ending for an enjoyable extended campout.

We just returned home from the National Rally in Essex Junction, Vermont. It was a beautiful area. As you can see we had a Blast from the Past in our Hippie Costumes. Please note Janet made all the Peace signs upside down, but the Groves and Aylestocks had fun. Our club has held campouts at Holly Gray Park, 5 River Campground, and Rif-fle Run. In June the Groves traveled to the Ohio State Rally. We missed it because of camper is-sues. The Groves and Aylestocks traveled to the Pennsylvania State Rally. We are getting ready to attend the Michigan and New Jersey State Ral-lies. Please mark your calendars for the WV State Rally to be held in Flatwoods, WV, at Holly Gray Campground on October 1-4, 2015.

A Rally well done!!!
What a great Rally! Congratulations to the Rally Master, Bob Coates, and his crew for putting on a wonderful National
Rally. From the day we arrived (Thursday, July 23) to the day we departed (Friday, July 31), we were really busy. The parking
crew did an outstanding job of putting every rig in its place, the registration crew was well prepared and very courteous, and the en-
tertainment – well you must see/hear the Rivoli‘s sing! Ron and Kay Rivoli were inspirational with their complimentary Gospel
Sing on Saturday and, boy, the jokes were flying in between the rousing camping songs as they performed the ―Rivoli Revue‖ on
Monday night! Some comments were, ―Best entertainment I‘ve heard in quite a while.‖ ―They don‘t sing the run of the mill songs,
but keep you tapping and wanting more.‖
The YNCT group put on a great talent show on Wednesday giving us a surprise at how versatile they all were at playing
musical instruments, singing, step-dancing and stand-up comedy (And Gabby did not, I repeat NOT, injure herself at this rally). The
catered pancake breakfast by District 1 and Bill Milton and his assistants, and the catered pulled pork dinner were superb – and
those donuts just kept coming and coming! THE YNCT Chuck Wagon Lunch was a great success and the dogs and burgers had a
delightful taste. (Many kept going back for more dogs.) The weather cooperated nicely as well, except for the one rainy, misty,
cooler day. It did rain a few times, but that was short lived. All activities were inside the same building and the bulletin board, along
with the printed program, made it easy for folks to stay tuned to what was happening next. There is one exception to that: our dinner
cruise on Lake Champlain… ―Did anyone have a CHAMP sighting?‖, you ask. My guess is that it is in the eye of the beholder, but
everyone who went on the cruise loved the meal, the weather, the gorgeous full moon, and the energetic professional DJ! Ask our
new 3rd VP, Ray Geer, who won the ―Ball in the Spoon‖ game. Speaking of DJs, our Sock Hop DJ had the crowd pulsing with the
Twist, those Hula Hoops, and the LIMBO, but snuggling with their loves to the s-l-o-w numbers.
Back to being busy – It was nonstop for most folks, except if they wanted a bit of sightseeing and dinner or lunch on the
town. The Opening Ceremonies was very impressive with the YNCT color guard. The thought-provoking Memorial Service was
succinct, and it was filled with music, sincerity, and memorials for the many who have joined the Innumerable Caravan this past
year.
Of course, there were meetings and more meetings, even for the YNCT group. The Pet Parade was a big hit, even in the
terrible heat, and the NCT 60‘s Parade was a huge success led by District 1‘s –actually Sue Geer‘s- 1968 red Mustang convertible.
There were many NEW members participating in the Parade [As an aside, new members, the Hartwells, who won the coffee table,
and the Sextons, who won the NCT afghan, were very pleased indeed.]
Congratulations to all those folks who entered the many categories in the Pet Parade, the NCT 60‘s Theme Parade, for the
competition for Chapter of the Year (the Kansas Jayhawks Travelers), and the craft show! All your hard work shone through to all
that witnessed it first hand!! Congratulations to Donna Cook (Kansas Jayhawks Travelers) who was named Chapter Secretary of
the Year!!! Was she ever surprised! There were many other winners of categories that are just too numerous to mention here.
Hopefully they will be in individual Chapter newsletters, maybe on the website, or in our News to Campers.
Yes, they did it – again! The YNCT group ―TP‘d‖ rigs! Fortunately, many who were skeptical about the TP all over the
rigs had the wonderful option of buying a precious blue ribbon to place on the door to avoid this toilet paper draping. This meant
that the kids were ―supposed to‖ bypass that particular rig. (Of course, you know that the National Officers were not allowed to
purchase that precious blue ribbon, don‘t you?)
Our installation of officers was efficient and excellent. Congratulations to our new 3rd Vice President, Ray Geer, and his

dent, Joe Dawes-Knowles, has appointed a great team to head up a great Rally for next July in Frankfort, NY at the Herkimer County
Fairgrounds.
Closing Ceremonies produced a round of tremendous thanks to Jack Mulhall and the Rally Crew. Jack thanked his Rally
Master, Bob Coates (after which both men presented their ladies with a bouquet of flowers) and the Team for tremendous work they
did for the entire 2014-15 year. As is the tradition after all the awards were given out and the Closing Ceremonies, our 2015 Na-
tional Rally was officially over. (Where did the time go?) This National Rally was wonderful and I can‘t wait for our trip to Herki-
mer, NY next summer. When you go, be sure to ask if there will be anything ‗different‘ happening on the train/boat excursion...
