Is it me, or does it feel a li%le chilly in here today? Throughout the month

of December, we will take a look at how some of the most popular biblical

figures in history became “Frozen” in their faith. Maybe you can relate to

some of their stories? Join with me each Sunday as we learn how to break

through the ice to experience the warmth of all that God has for us.

One way we can bring a li%le warmth to our community is by taking part

in Christmas S.O.S. (Support our Schools). From December 8th -15th, we

are challenging all of our families to support our teachers at Myrtle Beach

High School by purchasing some needed supplies that will help them

make a difference in the lives of others. Each year, our teachers make

sacrifices financially to make a difference in their classrooms and in the

lives of their students. Let’s take a moment to thank them this week by

purchasing some of the supplies that they would typically have to purchase

themselves. For your convenience, there is a supply list below, and in your

worship guide this Sunday, of items that are needed this year. Supplies that

are purchased will need to be brought to the church on December 15th so

that we can deliver them to the school. I thank you in advance for being a

church that supports our local community!

Blessings!

Terry

Deacon Update: Our REACH team makes contacts with guests that visit our church and others with whom we may have lost contact. We try to answer questions and supply information that is needed as people make decisions about a church home or a place where they can serve and have their spiritual needs met. Volunteers are needed as this team needs to grow as our church does. Please call Tim Delaney, 449-6679, or the church office to volunteer, or if you know of someone with interest in OVBC.

FX - Family experience Next FX meets this Sunday, Dec. 8 at 10:05 a.m. All children in Kinder-garten through 5th grade are invited to bring your parents for a Family eXperience where kids and parents learn about God together.

TRIBES meet on 12/15; 12/22 & 12/29 & 1/5/14 at 10:05 a.m. After creative large-group Bible exploration, children meet in small groups (Tribes) with a dedicated adult leader to discuss more about God’s Big Story, make friends, and share life experiences as they find a place to belong.

December Life App & Memory Verse:

Life App: Joy—finding a way to be happy, even when things don’t go your way.

Memory Verse: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” —Philippians 4:4, NIV

With Your Children in Mind … Did you know that PX (Preschool Experience) and Promiseland are environ- ments created especially for your infants through Kindergarten children?
