Richard Miles is the ounder o Miles o Freedom. Te Non-Profitorganization came about as a result o Mr. Miles experience as an inmate in theexas Department o Corrections. Mr. Miles was exonerated afer serving many

    Book Reviewby Lucy Bocanegra

Title - D Town: A Hard Lesson in Life

    Author - Ruben Anuario

When I saw the title and cover o this book my first impression wasthat it was something I could amiliarize with. I grew up in Dallas andelt I might read about someone I know. Being that the writer is basedin the area, I assumed the whole book was based on his lie experiencegrowing up here.

You know the saying about assuming! I contacted the writer andinormed him I would love to write a review about the book. Itinterested me to writer the review because it was a story based outo Dallas. Mr. Anuario quickly inormed me it was not a true story, but inspired by events he seen growing up in what was called D own(Drug own) in the mid to late 80s. He also inormed me it was notbased in Dallas, it starts in the Rio Grand Valley though the story endsin Dallas.

What you will get in the story is the turmoil and quest o the maincharacter, Chito to get revenge rom his athers murderer. Along thepages and content o the story, you will eel as i you are watchinga movie. Anuario reerences certain situations with music to fit themood and or scene.

D own is Anuarios first book and his intention is to inspire theyouth to own up to their actions, He says, Te decision you maketoday will eventually affect your tomorrow, either in a good way or in abad way... Tat is entirely up to you.
