When a parent has a concern
about his or her child’s
development it can sometimes feel
scary. Cape Cod Children’s Place
is here to support parents by
providing free developmental
screenings through the Ages and
Stages Questionnaire (ASQ).
Parents can fill out an ASQ
anytime. These assessments are
based on your child’s birth date
and can screen for fine motor,
gross motor, communication,
problem-solving, and social-
emotional development. Since you
know your child best, you fill out
the questionnaire, we score it and
then go over it with you. We also
give you recommendations for
activities you can do with your
child to help support your child in
reaching his or her next
developmental milestone, or will
recommend a further assessment
by a pediatrician or early
intervention. Contact Cape Cod
Children’s Place Parent Education
Coordinator, Monica Keefe-Hess
and asked to fill out an ASQ or
look for her at one of our weekly
early childhood playgroups: 508-

them with the application. Their goal is to help
the caller find as many resources as possible to
put good food on the table. When relevant, they
also connect callers with utility, fuel assistance,
and Mass Health. And all information is kept
strictly confidential.
The Fuel Assistance Program provides households with help paying home heating bills. Eligibility for fuel assistance may give you a discount on your gas and electric bills. The discounts range from 20-35% on your utility bill’s distribution charges. Please note that, some utilities require that the name on the bill is the same as the head of household on the fuel assistance application.
