Volcán Llanin (12,388 feet) on the Chilean-Argentine border on Febru­ary 19-21, 1955. The face had been previously attempted various times. On November 17 Otto Meiling and Dinko Bertoncelj of the Club Andino Bariloche made another new route on Llanin’s south face to the west of the Italian route after traversing Cerros Crespo and Cajón Negro. They claimed that their route was easier than the Italian one.
