Every soul who seeks to give should realize that they are co creating their

destinies with God. However the fundamental problem of finding your true expression

may be difficult to achieve. For the artist this true expression unhindered by others is

discovered by your sound or pitch. The first question is what sound or vibration does

Hip-Hop Resonate? Is the sound of Hip-Hop healthy? What do I mean by healthy...I

am simply saying that as this music come does it elevate us or debase us? Just as every

individual gives off a vibration or sound. We can hear there sound very clearly if we

tune into there frequency. For example, when we meet people for the very first time we

are either drawn towards the sound of the person or propelled away from the person. It

the reason why some people like jazz over R&B, or the color red over the color blue,

the Deep calleth unto the Deep. You know; that little something that tells you if a

person is good or bad company. This is what we call intuition on our part but to be able

to tune your intuition into another person’s vibration and perceive something about that

person. This response to sound is constantly occurring whether we relate with it or not.

Therefore, this felt knowledge leads us to be surrounded by similar harmonies and

sounds. How does Hip-Hop as sound become a path to not only cultural pride and

tradition but also the self-existence of a spiritual being? Such major questions may

arise in the psyche of Hip Hop. Such as questions of worth, value, and status.

However, some artists have evolved to deal with some spiritual questions or

philosophical, such as whom am I? This goes unanswered even in black churches for at

the deepest core level this is not a question of black or white in terms of cultural worth,

status and race. For the most part, if not all should have discovered the awareness of

cultural pride during the civil rights era with such songs as James Brown “I’m Black

and I’m Proud.” There are such groups as Bone Thug and Harmony, BusyBone,

Heavens Movie, Black Star, and Rakim with ”Mystery Who is God?..” These artists

are downloading their enlightenment.

“ My conciseness is an extension of him in

A flesh and bone with a mind of my own “Ceelo “Goodie Mob” Still Standing 1998

This is what separates Rap from Hip-Hop. The Hip Hop artist has a hidden

calling of a philosopher . To fulfill this call the artist has the skill to mask his the

awareness through out their life. Though there is a small remnant of these artists that

exists. Now to sincerely answer the question can Hip Hop be a path to the self

existence of a spiritual being and towards spiritual awareness? We must ask, can Hip

Hop function in the role that gospel had or vice a versa. If so there would be no need

for Hip Hop. But in some Christian circles listening to secular music is a taboo.

Though they are fighting against a natural urge. Mainly because these church goers still

remain ignorant to the levels of consciousness in all music. The fact is that

metaphysically speaking there is no such thing as musical categories but degrees of

consciousness. This is not to imply that one must be stationary on one level such as

gospel music in order to worship the creator. Though the freedom does come with

responsibility such as knowing what voice is speaking or what sound is being heard.

For the price of freedom may leave some mentally unprotected open to all sound. This

can be damaging if there is no guardian at the gate of your mind. For example;

we have seen the effects of rock and roll on a living organism such as a plant and

classical music. When this study was conducted the plant in the room with rock and roll

being played died and the other plant in the room where classical music was being

played blossomed. So we must concluded that sound has a hidden purpose and has an

affect on us as human beings.

“ There are powers above and shapes written in the sky which

sound in your soul which concern you most vitally and which belong to

the-God head as much as you in your inner most self “ From:Hans Kayser called

“Akroasis hearing expands on a thought of Kepler work called “Harmonice Mundi .”

The Sound of Hip-Hop

” Every element that exists in this university

is manifested from a thought first” Ceelo “Goodie Mob” Still Standing 1998

The sound of Hip-Hop is a loud roar, a sound of war. The music of Hip-Hop was

brought forth by the so-called generation X. Although the term X is insulting itself

given to us by the baby booming generations. However, the term X is there because the

X represents the unknown. Thusly the former generation is unable to tune into the

frequency of the current generation X. Not knowing that the quickest way to

comprehend the generation is to listen to the sound of that generation. The music is

the way you tune into the pulse of the generation. Moreover, Hip-Hop is not an

unknown factor, it’s not heard to simply to entertain. The coming of Hip-Hop is as a

powerful force, as a militant sound to increase vibration patterns to give way to social ,

mental psychological healing.

Revelation 8:6&7 and the seven angles, which had the seven trumpets,

prepared themselves to sound. (7) The first angle sounded, and there

followed hail and fire mingled with blood...

As we notice in the following bible verse that there is a trumpet sound that is

followed by an event. Why does the angle sound the trumpet first? Is it necessary to

release a sound or vibration before a major move of God takes place? (When I say

move of God I am not only referring to an occurrence done by God himself but rather

a response of universal laws at work. Such as reaping what you sow, and affirmation ;

the power of creation, the spoken word ) the fact is before there is an actual happening

their must be a sound or a vibration that precludes that occurrences. Music is sound and

Sound is vibration and vibration is the movement of matter, the substance of creation.

Therefore, Hip-Hop sends out energy that calls into itself the event. For years religious

schools of thought have talked about the spirit or energy, years before science was able

discovered the existence of the atom or protons and electrons. Therefore, science has

proven the actual existence of things not seen. Catching up with what religion has

always believed. We can see a similar biblical example in the Old Testament book of

Joshua. In which God instructs the Israelites to walk around the walls of Jericho a

certain number of times and then sound their trumpets. Then in the sounding of the

trumpets the walls of the city would fall down.
