Spring Hill Baptist Foundation ScholarshipsThe Spring Hill Baptist Foundation is now accepting applications for scholarships. Please note the grants will be limited to the specific scholarship funds that have been established below. Also a student’s financial need will be considered.Application forms are available in the Administrative and Education Offices. They are to be returned to Spring Hill Baptist Church by May 16, 2014. Due to limited funding, these awards may vary annually, and are renewable only by application each year.Anna Crump Cuevas Scholarship - Limited to medical related fields (preferably nursing).

Chamblee Scholarship - Limited to seminary students.

Condit Scholarship - Limited to students who attend the University of Mobile.

Dell McGough Scholarship - Limited to students who have participated in Spring Hill Singers.

Easterling-Ison Scholarship - General scholarship grant based upon need and funding available.

Hughes Scholarship - Limited to Engineering or Human Environmental Science students at the University of Alabama.

John Compton Scholarship - Limited to students attending the University of South Alabama and not restricted to but giving preference to students in the fields of music, missions, or ministry.

The renovations to the new Welcome Center are progressing well. These renovations are designed to help us be a more welcome place for guests. The plan calls for this phase of the renovations to be complete in no more than 150 days. For much of that time the former library foyer will be closed. Additionally, the children’s wing of classes off of that foyer can be accessed from the side by the Preschool building, but there is no throughway to the Sanctuary during this phase of the renovations. You may enter the Sanctuary from the courtyard (south entrance) or from the McGregor side (west side of the church) near the Administrative office. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience,

and appreciate your patience during this exciting time.

Items for Africa

During the next several months we will be collecting all types of eyeglasses, wash cloths, small soaps, toothbrushes, socks, knit caps, wide head bands that will cover ears, mirrors, kerchiefs, ear muffs, Mardi Gras beads, small nail polish, pens, pencils, and neck scarves. These will be taken to Africa by the team which leaves May 29. Please donate what you can to this important endeavor.

Collection boxes will be located in the Library foyer, the Activities Center and the Dining Hall foyer.

Each year, we honor the life and work of Annie Walker Armstrong (1850-1938) when we give to the annual offering for North American missions named after her. As a tireless servant of God and a contagious advocate and supporter of mission efforts throughout the world, Annie Armstrong led women to unite in mission endeavors that ultimately led to the formation of Woman’s Missionary Union, for which she served as the first corresponding secretary.

Church Goal for Annie Armstrong Easter Offering: $25,000. National Goal: $70 million.

for children 4 years old – 6th grade

in the Chapel. This exciting time for children will include components of a regular worship service such as music, an offertory, and a message, as well as child-friendly elements such as puppetry and drama. Children should be dropped off in the Chapel between 10:30-10:45 a.m. Please take children for a quick restroom/water break before dropping them off. 5th and 6th graders will be dismissed to come meet you at the close of the service, but younger children can be picked up in the Chapel after the Morning Worship Service.
