I, PETER CARL GUTWEIN, Minister for Planning and Local Government, hereby give notice that I have declared the draft Derwent Valley Interim Planning Scheme 2014 to be the Derwent Valley Interim Planning Scheme 2015, in accordance with section 30F of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 (the Act).The Derwent Valley Interim Planning Scheme 2015 will come into operation on 16 December 2015. Under section 30F(5) of the Act, the Derwent Valley Interim Planning Scheme 2015 applies to the Derwent Valley municipal area. The New Norfolk Planning Scheme 1994 ceases to have effect on 16 December 2015.

ANTI-DISCRIMINATION ACT 1998

THE following application for exemption from the provisions of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 (Tas) (the Act) has been granted:

1. Tasmanian Centre for Global Learning Inc auspicing Students Against Racism– 15/11/005 – Application for an exemption granted under section 57 of the Act for a period of one week from the date granted (inclusive of 21 and 22 November 2015). This exemption has been granted to permit Students Against Racism to advertise and host a women-only 2 day event called Women’s Business for the purposes of:

a) encouraging and supporting women of migrant, refugee and/or asylum seeker backgrounds to participate and celebrate their cultural differences through fashion and performances without fear of disrespecting their culture; and

b) respecting the participating women’s cultures by excluding men from attending the Women’s Business event.

Granted on the 17th day of November 2015.

The exemption is granted for a period of one week (inclusive of the event dates 21 and 22 November 2015) subject to the fulfilment of the conditions that Students Against Racism under the auspices of Tasmanian Centre for Global Learning Inc:

a) report as soon as practicable after the event to the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner on the success of the event and any issues or concerns raised about the exemption; and

b) on at least one occasion in the 6 months immediately after this order is made it will organise and promote community education for members of Students Against Racism through the Equal Opportunity Tasmania’s community education program to increase awareness of rights and obligations under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 (Tas).

A person may apply to the Anti-Discrimination Tribunal for a review of the Commissioner’s decision within 28 days from the date of this notice being published.

I, Jeremy Rockliff, Minister administering the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995, acting under Section 94 of that Act, hereby:

1. Set the total allowable catch for the entire commercial abalone fishery for the year 2016 at 1,694 tonnes.

2. Determine that the parts of the commercial abalone fishery from which the total allowable catch for the year 2016 is to be taken are: I. The eastern blacklip abalone part of the fishery; II. The western blacklip abalone part of the fishery; III. The central western blacklip abalone part of the fishery; IV. The northern blacklip abalone part of the fishery; V. The Bass Strait blacklip abalone part of the fishery; and VI. The greenlip abalone part of the fishery, those parts of the fishery being respectively identified as follows:

I. the eastern blacklip abalone part of the fishery is the part of the commercial abalone fishery involving only blacklip abalone in State waters adjacent to the east, south-east and south coasts of Tasmania bounded in the north by an imaginary line starting from the northern side of the mouth of the Great Musselroe River at Musselroe Bay, running due west for 100 metres, following the shoreline 100 metres from shore to the northernmost tip of Musselroe Point, running due north until intersection with the line of latitude 40º 48' 00" South and running due east to the outer limit of State waters and bounded in the south by an imaginary straight line running due south from Whale Head near South East Cape to the outer limit of State waters;

II. the western blacklip abalone part of the fishery is the part of the commercial abalone fishery involving only blacklip abalone in State waters adjacent to the south and west coasts of the mainland of Tasmania between an imaginary straight line due south from Whale Head near South East Cape and an imaginary straight line due west from the mouth of the Wild Wave River near Sandy Cape;

III. the central western blacklip abalone part of the fishery is the part of the commercial abalone fishery involving only blacklip abalone in State waters adjacent to the west coast of the mainland of Tasmania bounded in the north by an imaginary straight line running due west from the mouth of the Arthur River to the outer limit of State waters and in the south by an imaginary straight line due west from the mouth of the Wild Wave River near Sandy Cape;

IV. the northern blacklip abalone part of the fishery is the part of the commercial abalone fishery involving only blacklip abalone in State waters adjacent to the north,

V. the Bass Strait blacklip abalone part of the fishery is the part of the commercial abalone fishery involving only blacklip abalone in State waters adjacent to the north coast of Tasmania, the Furneaux Group of islands, and in Bass Strait bounded in the west by the line of longitude 145° 22’ 42” East and in the east by an imaginary line beginning where the line of longitude 147° 27’ 00” East meets the high-water mark of the north coast of the mainland of Tasmania in Anderson Bay then running due north until its junction with the line of latitude 40° 39’ South then due east along that line of latitude to the limit of State waters; and

VI. the greenlip abalone part of the fishery is the part of the commercial abalone fishery involving only greenlip abalone.

3. Determine that the portion of the total allowable catch to be taken from each part of the commercial abalone fishery for the year 2016 is:

I. the eastern blacklip abalone part of the fishery – 528.5 tonnes;

II. the western blacklip abalone part of the fishery – 717.5 tonnes;

III. the central western blacklip abalone part of the fishery – 42 tonnes

IV. the northern blacklip abalone part of the fishery – 189 tonnes;

V. the Bass Strait blacklip abalone part of the fishery – 77 tonnes; and,

VI. the greenlip abalone part of the fishery – 140 tonnes.

4. Determine that the amount of abalone which may be taken from each part of the fishery pursuant to each abalone quota unit in the year 2016 is:

I. for the eastern blacklip abalone part of the fishery – 151 kilograms;

II. for the western blacklip abalone part of the fishery – 205 kilograms;

III. for the central western blacklip abalone part of the fishery – 12 kilograms;

IV. for the northern blacklip abalone part of the fishery – 54 kilograms;

V. for the Bass Strait blacklip abalone part of the fishery – 22 kilograms; and,

VI. for the greenlip abalone part of the fishery – 40 kilograms.
