What is Presbyterian Women (PW)? Presbyterian Women (PW) is an independent organization within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) of more than 300,000 women. The programming and resource options for the organization offer a variety of ways for women to live out their faith in an inclusive, caring community. For more than 200 years Presbyterian women’s groups have strengthened the Presbyterian Church and played a major role in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and witnessing to the promise of God’s kingdom.

Who Can Join PW?

If you are a woman, and you attend this church, you are a Presbyterian Woman! Presbyterian Women should not be confused with the PW Coordination Team. The PW Coordinating Team is a small group of women who plan mission projects and social fellowship for all the women of the church to participate in. The list of those women and their roles on the team can be found below. All women are invited to participate in the mission, ministry and activities of PW. If you have any questions about what our PW is up to, feel free to contact one of the ladies listed below!

What is the Purpose of PW?

The purpose of PW is: Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,

to support the mission of the church worldwide,

to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.

What Does Our PW Do?

Our PW is very focused on mission. Every summer we put together special items for the local Food Pantry, as well as providing scholarships to the Chatsworth Boys & Girls Club so that children in need can have a safe place to go after school. We also support Church World Service’s disaster relief efforts by providing clean up buckets used here in the United States, as well as other kinds of kits (baby, hygiene, school kits) internationally. In addition, we provide a $500 scholarship to a Prairie Central student every year, and help the local schools with needed supplies. Plus lots more!

KITCHEN DUTY FOR MAY Sandy Dawson

The next meeting of the PWCT is scheduled for May 5th at the home of Sandy Dawson with Alyssa Homan providing devotions.
