Museum Residency Museum Excursion
Years 3 and 4 students from Rooms 14, 15 and 16 visited the Museum on 17 June to learn
about local Noongar culture and lifestyle. There was a display of the plants, animal skins
and other artefacts. Mrs Vernice Gillies, a Noongar elder, gave a very interesting talk and
the students found about the food people ate and how they obtained it and also about their
clothing, shelter and language.
Later they went on the Brig Amity and learnt some things about the first Europeans
settlers in Albany.
Room 15 continued .

Lockdown Practise
As part of our Risk Management Policy, we will
be having a practice of our Emergency Lockdown
Procedures on Wednesday 24 June 2015. This will
involve the teachers locking the inside and
outside classroom and prac space doors, and
ensuring that all students are accounted for and
are safe. Teaching will continue as normal in the
classes, so most students will be unaware that
anything is happening.
Semester 1 Reports
Reports will be sent home on Wednesday, 1 July.
You are asked to make time available to read
your childs report and share with them your
appreciation for their good efforts and progress.
To help children improve in any areas of concern
it would be valuable to help your child to reflect
on the good things they are currently doing in the
learning area and set with them achievable goals
to work on in Term 3.
You are invited to make appointments with
teachers to clarify any aspects of the report or to
discuss your child's progress in more detail, early
next term. We value parents as partners and look
forward to this partnership being further
enhanced through the reporting process.
NAIDOC Week
A special assembly will be held on Monday, 29
June at 9.00am to open the NAIDOC Week
celebrations at the school.
We would love more volunteers to help with
damper making that will be happening
throughout the week. If you are able to help
please let Louann know by contacting the office or
get further details from your childs classroom
teacher.
Volunteers for lunch time activities in the hall
would also be welcome. They will occur on
Monday through Thursday from 12.30 to 1.20pm.
