Soya Protein Concentrate Textured Vegetable Protein, SPC TVP also known as Textured Soya Protein Concentrate has protein content ranging from 65 – 70. It is produced, using Non-GMO Soya Protein Concentrate as a raw material, in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours by the extrusion cooking process. Broadly 90% of its application areas are similar to that of TVP. SPC TVP possesses high water absorption power of 500%. It provides discreet, particulate pieces giving a more open texture, clean flavour and improved functionality. On hydration, it mimics the texture and appearance of meat fibres, therefore is used to extend or replace chicken, meat, beef or fish. It is used in ground processed meats, beef, poultry, pork and seafood; and also in vegan burgers and reconstituted mock meat products. It is used in ready-to-eat cereals, in nutrition bars to add protein

content, and in retort products such as stews, corned beef products etc. It offers superior functionality & stability even in stressed systems such as high fat or high moisture formulations and reconstitution of pre-cooked products. The unique and distinct feature of its applications is its higher inclusion rate which does not compromise with taste and flavour, enhances succulence, increases cook yields, reduces shrinkage and improves the shape retention in ground meat applications.

Much to the credit of the functional characteristics of Soya TVP, it is the best ingredient for meat, beef & chicken processors. It is widely used as a meat binder and meat extender in processed meat industry, in various fast foods like burgers, pizza toppings, hamburgers and also in various dishes, curries, vegetables & rice etc.

Dear Friends,

We all are experiencing a first in a life-time experience due to Covid-19, which seems like a pause button for the world, pressed by some unknown power. Such a large scale lockdown with a hold on travel and fear to move out has taken a big toll on jobs, businesses, governments and economy.

The poor daily wage earners, migrant workers and petty services providers have been affected the most. Taking the responsibility to help such people, we have provided the following support through various NGOs and government agencies :

• 2500 PPE kits for paramedical staff in hospitals

• 4500 masks and 500 face-shields to the city police

• 2850 ration packets, containing 9.5 kg of basic food and raw materials

• Financial support equalling the cost of 1,00,000 food packets for the needy to the Indore Municipal Corporation, the Police Training College and 5 NGOs

I am glad to update you that even during the lockdown we have kept our operations running, so that we can serve our customers without any interruptions. Various difficulties in logistics, sourcing of material, managing operations with limited workers, absence of courier facilities, testing travel facilities etc. have been handled by our efficient and customer-driven teams at all locations to keep the supplies on.

Following all the safety guidelines helped us maintain all the directives by the Indian Government from day one of the lockdown. We are also taking adequate safety measures to safeguard our teams, their families, plants and surroundings.

We have continued our new products’ and facilities’ operationalisation during lockdown. I am glad to share the development of Textured Soya Protein Concentrate and the operationalisation of a new facility for Phosphatidyl Choline 50. These products are used in vegan burgers and Vitamin C delivery system to human body, and are very useful in the post Covid-19 era.

International business has been hit very badly due to Covid -19 pandemic and soy complex is not an exception. We don’t know how long it will continue but the world is learning to live with the coronavirus. With these sprits, let us talk about the world soya figures to understand future market directions.

• As per USDA report, world soy crop production would be 362.7 million tons

• USA may produce 112.2 million tons as against 96.7 million tons production of the last year

• Brazil may produce 131 million tons as compared to 124 million tons of the last year

• Argentina may produce 53.5 million tons as against 51 million tons production of the last year

• India may harvest 10.5 million tons against 9.3 million tons of the last year

• China’s harvest would be of 17.5 million tons

• Overall world would witness an excellent crop in the year 2020-21
