METAL TO METAL SEAL

The high contact pressure in the seal area is reinforced by the

internal shoulder and ensures gas tightness at tensile loads

up to the joint tensile strength.

IMPROVED BUTTRESS

The tapered buttress thread ensures a high stress performance

and allows easy make-up even under severe conditions.

ROBUST INTERNAL SHOULDER

The internal shoulder reinforces the contact pres-

sure in the seal area and acts as a positive make-

up stop.

SMOOTH INTERNAL PROFILE

The flush internal profile minimizes turbulence. it also

provides good conditions for internal plastic coating.

RUNNING PROCEDUREBefore applying thread compound and after finalcleaning and drying inspect the seal area andshoulder visually (run with a finger over these areas).repair is only permissible in the thread area. Thecompound should be applied on pin and box to ob-tain a thin uniform film including the seal area.

For stabbing use a stabbing guide and start make-up by hand before using the make-up tong. once atorque increase is noted change to low gear (max.5 rpm) up to the final torque.
