Compound Sentence:Contains two independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction.
Examples• I love English class, but sometimes my hand hurts from so much writing!
• I want to go out of town this weekend, so I need to do my homework early.
• I consider myself to be fairly independent, yet I enjoy socializing when the company is good!

Complex Sentence• A complex sentence has an independent clause joined by one
or more dependent clauses. • A complex sentence always has a subordinator such as because, since, after, although, or when (and many others) or a relative pronoun such as that, who, or which.
Examples:• When he handed in his homework, he forgot to give the
teacher the last page.• The teacher returned the homework after she noticed the error.• The students are studying because they have a test tomorrow.• After they finished studying, Juan and Maria went to the movies• Juan and Maria went to the movies after they finished studying.• The town where I grew up is in Georgia.

Compound-Complex Sentence• A sentence with multiple independent clauses and at least one dependent clause.
• Examples:• Since I love English class, I don’t mind following directions so that I can get a good grade, and I’m really going to miss Ms. Curley next semester.•Whenever she speaks, I cringe, and try really hard not to make rude comments.
