Thank you to our friends, the wonderful Ladies of the Shaughnessy Lions’ Club

On December 14th, the generous Ladies of

the Shaughnessy Lions’ Club brought won-

derful hampers and thoughtful gifts to our

clients and their children. Some clients were

moved to tears and all were overjoyed to re-

ceive such beautiful gifts.

Shashi Assanand, our Executive Director, was

the emcee for the get

together event. The Ladies have been our benefactors for the

past several years.

December 16th: Our Annual Clients’ Christmas Party!

We had a full house, plenty of laughter, entertainment and games for everyone and a tasty and nutritious buffet. Certified volun-teers provided chair massage and nail art. A (very young despite the white beard) Santa distributed the gifts that our generous donors had provided thanks to the active canvassing of our volunteers. It was truly a joyous and rewarding day for the clients and the VLMFSS staff that worked so hard to organize the event.

A special thanks to Agra Tandoori Restaurant in Burnaby, that donated large and super tasty samosas and also to Camy’s Pizza that for many years has provided a delicious varie-ty of pizzas .

The Seniors’ Group meets on the last Thursday of the month,

11:30am-2:30pm.

South Asian Women Group: every second Wednesday, 10am- 1pm

Moms and Tots Emotional Intelligence Workshop, every Monday, 10am-12pm.

The Holiday Season may be over now, but for many women trying to recov-

er from abusive relationships or still coping with abuse, the need for support is not

going to end. To help immigrant, refugee, and visible minority women and children

Anti-violence presentation at Success LINC Classes

violence presentation to 30 students at SUCCESS LINC in Coquitlam.
