Internal Quality Assurance Cell organized Staff meeting for the Academic Year 2019-20 at AV Hall on

15.06.2019, Saturday. Dr.T. Venkatesan, Principal presided over the meeting and facilitated and welcomed

all the staff. Swami Vedananda, Secretary gave blessings and motivated the staff.

Parents Meeting

Internal Quality Assurance Cell organized Parents Meeting for first year students and their parents at

Prayer Hall on 16.06.2019, Sunday at 03.00 p.m. All the parents were advised to cooperate with college and

to develop the student’s career. Sri V. Parthasarathy, Vice Principal welcomed all gathered and

Dr.T.Venkatesan, Principal delivered a presidential address to all the students and parents and delivered

special address about our college. Dr.K.Karthikeyan, Dean and Controller of Examinations delivered address

about the Deanery and Examinations. Dr.N.Nagendran, IQAC Coordinator delivered a special address about

Internal Quality Assurance Cell.

Special Discourse Programme

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Department of Tamil jointly organized the Special Discourse

Programme on 17.06.2019, 18.06.2019 and 19.06.2019 at Our College Ground. On 17.06.2019, Monday. Sri.

S.Jegannathan, Bharathi Educational Development Organization, Madurai, addressed the students on

“tPuj;JwtpAk; tpLjiyf; ftpQUk;”, on 18.06.2019, Tuesday Dr.K.Revathy Subbulakshmi, Vice

Principal, Senthamil College, Madurai addressed the students on “fk;gdpy; Nkyhz;ikr; rpe;jidfs;”,

on 19.06.2019, Wednesday Dr.M.Arunagiri, Thiyagarajar College of Arts and Science, Madurai, addressed

the students on “FUNt ruzk;”. Swami Vedananda, the Secretary and Dr.T. Venkatesan, the Principal

felicitated and presided over the programme.

International Yoga Day

The Department of Physical Education of Vivekananda College, Tiruvedakam West, Madurai organized the

International Yoga Day-2019 on 21st June 2019, Friday at 06.00 a.m. at our College Ground. The celebration of

International Day of Yoga began with prayer “Om Sahanavavathu”. The Principal of Vivekananda College Dr.T.

Venkatesan delivered welcome address and presided over the programme. Totally 1095 students and 74 staff were

participated and performed 27 yogasanas along with loosening practices as per the Common Yoga Protocol released by

the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, in this International Day of Yoga held at our college. Yogiraj

N.Ramalingam, Founder, Swami Sivananda Yoga Research Centre, Madurai, delivered the International Yoga Day

Address and performed Yoga Asanas along with students. In his Yoga Day Speech, he insisted the following messages

to the students, “Knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or unconsciously, everyone behaves in certain ways which

will not be a source of growth to one and others. By understanding the nature, science of karma everyone can deal with

life easily in a pleasant way through practicing yoga in their day to day life”. The Secretary of Vivekananda College

Swami Vedananda gave blessings to all our Gurukula students and acharyas. In recognition of best yoga performance

in Vivekananda College, Sri. K. Alagumalai studying Final Year B.Sc. Chemistry is awarded as “Patanjali Best Yoga

Student”. The IQAC Coordinator of Vivekananda College Dr. N.Nagendran proposed vote of thanks. The programme

ended with prayer “Sarve Bhavanthu”.

Monthly Newsletter and Personality Assessment Committee Meeting was held on 25.06.2019,

Tuesday at Principal Office at 01.00 p.m. Dr.T. Venkatesan, Principal talked about collection of reports

from departments and collaborative activities.

PG and Research Department of Commerce organized the soft skill development programme

at commerce smart classroom on 22.06.2019. Sri.M.Nagaraj, Assistant Professor of Mathematics acted as

a Chief Guest. Mr.Sudesamithran, II B.Com read a Weekly news Bulletin, Sri.Dhanushkodi Aravind II

B.Com presented a paper presentation on Volvo Truck.

On 13.05.2019, Ph.D. Viva Voce Examination of Dr.M.Premanantham, student of former

Principal Dr.S.Raja thesis entitled “A Study on the Survival and Growth of MSMEs – in Sivagangai

District” was held in the conference hall and Dr.K.Alamelu, Bank Management, Alagappa University

served as an External Expert for the Viva.

Dr.K.Karthikeyan, Dean & Controller of Examinations, Vivekananda College thesis entitled “Impact
