Hello swingers and hackers. It’s getting hot out here on the golf course. But our course is looking better and better. We appreciate everyone’s help in keeping the golf course looking good. There are two different quotes that come to mind when I think of the game of golf. The first is, “Do you know why they call it golf? Because all the other four letter words have been taken.” The other, and the more serious one I believe, was from Bobby Jones. He said, “Golf is a game played on a 6 inch course, between your ears.”

It’s so true that such a seemingly easy sport is so difficult to so many. As for myself, the harder I try, the worse I play. The game should be played with flowing and rhythmic motions. Even with our short comings, great things happen. I speak of an exciting day in golf at our Lake on May 27 at about 2:20 PM. I was playing with the 1:00 Skins group on number three when the first two golfers missed the green completely. The next two (as shown in the picture) not only hit the green, but one of them, Rick Swope, aced his tee shot. That was Rick’s first hole-in-one! Next up, Dale Hutton hit his ball within two inches of the cup. It was quite a phenomenal feat and great fun to watch.

Mike Shafer also got a hole in one on May 16th on number 15. Atta boy, Mike and Rick! Let’s all continue to have fun and be safe on the golf course! Please watch for 90° signs on the back nine. Until next time!
