Playhouse Friends –

To which of the four subscription shows are you most looking forward: the delightful magic

of The Wizard of Oz; Cabaret’s dramatic and lyrical exploration of wartime Europe; Dirty

Dancing’s energetic take on early ‘60s dance music; or the jukebox sensation of Motown? It’s

difficult to decide on just one favorite!

The 2017-18 Broadway in Wilmington series will combine some of the best recent exports from

New York with classics of musical theater history, with some strong ties to music in the movies.

Two productions were adapted from movies; one show was made into an Oscar-winning film;

and two were inspired by pop music of the 1950s and 1960s. This season promises to be both

familiar and fresh. And these are just the subscription shows…we’re still working on a number

of other entertaining options to supplement the core season.

If you are a subscriber, you should have received your renewal packet by now. (In fact, you

may have already renewed your subscription, and if so… Thanks!) You have until April 3 to

renew with the “early bird” discount, and until May 15 to guarantee keeping your same seats or

upgrading.

For those of you who have never been subscribers before, now is a perfect time to jump

in. Subscribers get the best seats at the lowest prices, plus free parking, dining incentives,

exchange privileges, and the right to buy additional tickets at the discounted subscriber price.

It’s a great deal, and the best way to be sure that you see every show you want.

Speaking of shows you want to see… Don’t miss Steppin’ Out with Ben Vereen on Saturday,

June 10! You’ll enjoy the wonderful talents of this legendary Broadway showman – Tony

Award-winning star of the original Pippin – while also celebrating America’s longest running

Broadway series. Please join us in welcoming Ben Vereen back to The Playhouse!
