The Estate

The Villa is the main building including three floors. At theground floor there is the majestic Hall where you find the historical piano played by Giuseppe Verdi in the past. At the two superior floors you find four suites per floor with gardens view and designed in typical Venetian Style, every single room is different from the others.

The newest area of the Villa, The Chiostro, is composed by twelve junior suites and seven apartment suites, all facing the private garden of the new hall.

The Barchessa is dedicated to classic rooms, at the first floor double classic room and rooms with a private patio at the ground floor. The Barchessa is such a suggestive place where it is possible to have lunch or organize amazing events.

Restaurant

The hotel’s restaurant, is set in the elegant sale of the hotel with privileged views over the park gardens. The restaurant offers a menu derived from the best products on the local market, prepared to draw out the best of their natural characteristics and flavours. The hotel’s menu, inspired by the sea cuisine, stands out for its first-rate preparation of the most traditional dishes in Italian gastronomy. The American breakfast buffet is served in the Sala Veranda, which looks like a Serra because of the windows, the view of the garden and plants.

Origins and History

The origin of the complex is unknown and brings a little mystery together with it. The official commissioning is reported by AlviseCondulmer and is dated 1743 A.c. The complex stands over the ruins of a medieval Monastery, completely renovated at the time

of building the Villa.

Exclusive UseThe whole hotel can be rented on an exclusive basis,

including all the rooms and its services. It is also possible to rent for exclusive use one or more part of the property

for special events and private parties.

Origins, arts and style

The Villa has an exceptionally spacious, elegant and ornate interior with beautiful stucco work. The central room in the ground floor still contains four painting by Eugenio Moretti Larese in fine Baroque stucco frames depicting “the Toilet”, “The Hunt”, “The Harvest” and “Bucolic Revels”. In one of these pictures, Moretti Larese also painted one of the most famous hosts of Villa Condulmer: Giuseppe Verdi, who was closest friend of the Tornielli family and who, during the second half of 19th century, spent a long time here. The Villa is flanked by two beautiful loggias linking the mansion to two one-storey wings with lofts.Beyond the one of the right there is a gateway entrance topped by a curved gable. This leads to another garden behind the Villa and to the newest part of the building. Next to this entrance is the a private chapel, still sanctified.

Park, lake and pool

A huge monumental park stretches out behind the Villa. In it you can relax during days and nights. All the bar and restaurant services are abailable also in the Park, such as

businesses and events services.

The outsides of the Villa has been designed and realized under the direction of the Brescian garden architect Sebatoni

and includes a small lake, a collection of exotic plants, the ruins of a medieval tower, probably designed and built at the time of

construction and, moreover, an incredible variety of massive trees that harmoniously blend in with one another.

The Swimming pool is sourranded by the secular trees wich ambrace also the romantic Lake and the most ancient ruins

of Villa Condulmer.

Notable GuestingOne of the most famous guest in this historic house has beenGiuseppe Verdi who, as above, has been closest friend of countGianbattista Tornielli. On the evening of 6 March 1853, the première of “La Traviata”, at La Fenice in Venice, was a complete fiasco. Heart broken by this disastrous debut, Verdi was drivenfrom the theatre by catcalls and abuse. Count Tornielli, friend of the Composer and equally saddened by the flop, wanted to take Verdi to his country Villa as his guest for a few weeks. Besides, this adventure was precious to Verdi who, during his staying here in Villa Condulmer, rewrote the entire piece. So renovated, the Traviata was reproposed some months ago to the Public and, finally, became the masterpiece of Classical Music that we all know today. Another distinguished guest was Ronald Regan, who stayed in the Villa in 1987 during the G7 meeting. At this occasion, Mr Reagan wanted a huge surveillance system to be mounted through the whola surface of the Villa, both inside and outside. Moreover, Mr Reagan wanted the noble floor to be renovated and designed following His indications. Basically, this meant a complete remaking of the eight suites of the Villa and the upgrading of the whole electric system with a 360 cctv system. During the years, here we had the honour to host other important individuals such, as example, Gordon Sumner (Better known as “Sting”), Ricky Martin and many other world famous artists.
