dpn each (= 9 sts). Work in rnds *K 1 on one needle, 1 yo*,

Stripes:

FELTING

Wash the piece in a washing machine, in 40-60°C fine

wash program, adding small amount mild detergent.

Bigger objects felt more than smaller ones. Wash

smaller pieces together with a towel or pair of jeans.

Stretch your work into measurement and shape it while

still damp. Afterwards it can be washed in wool wash

program. Different washing machines produce different

kind of felting result, test first with a swatch.

Eyes:

Using crochet hook size 3½ mm and black yarn, work as

foll:

Make a finger lock, fasten with 1 sl st, 6 sc into ring.

1st rnd: Ch1, 2 sc to each st, end with 1 sl st.

in same color), diameter approx. 5 cm (2 in).

Sew them on top and on slanting sides, 1 in the mid, and 2

Wash in a washing machine in 60 program. Use normal

detergent. Stretch slippers into shape while still damp,

Change to pink yarn. Work 11-13-15-16 cm (4.3-5.1-6.3

in) more in Garter st (measured from changing to pink

Wear the slippers while still little bit damp, and shape into

pairs. Break yarn, thread through rem sts, pull tightly, and

weave in on WS.

Sew mid back seam.

Using needles size 9 mm and dark violet yarn, pick or knit

up 30-32 sts along the upper edge. Work in 30 rnds in

Garter st ending with knit rnd. Bind off rather loosely, and

fold the edge.



Fold the upper edge after felting. Wear the slippers while

still damp to obtain the best possible shape and fit.

Finishing

Place pieces WS facing each other, with handles upwards.

pieces’, and fold work in double (picture 3)

Fold pieces as shown in picture 4. Sew side and bottom

8 sts. Work 34-36 rnds in St st. Beg dec: dec 1 st beg

of each needle, rep every 2nd

Thumb: Remove the marker thread, and pick up the

exposed sts, 8-9 sts from both edges, and 1 st from
