Matthew 11: 28-30Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

ROUND HILL COMMUNITY CHURCH CREEDI believe in God, the one universal Father of all mankind, revealed supremely in Jesus Christ, our Lord, and present with us to guide, comfort and inspire in the Holy Spirit. I believe in the Kingdom of God; and in the mission of the Christian Church to proclaim the Gospel to all the world, exalting the worship of the Lord our God, and laboring for the progress of knowledge, the promotion of righteousness, the reign of peace, and the realization of human brotherhood. United in Christian love, we pray and labor for the coming of the Kingdom, the triumph of righteousness and the life everlasting. Amen.

ROUND HILL COMMUNITY CHURCH MISSON STATEMENTWe, the members of the Round Hill Community Church, a self-governing, non-denominational body, seek to foster a community of faith where people of all ages and backgrounds pursue spiritual growth; where God is worshipped in Word and praised in music;

Page 8: · Web viewThe true Light that enlightens every person has come into the world, revealing that in God, all creation is one. ... Jesus has challenged us to be the light of the world,

where friends are made and hurts are healed. We seek to be a community where individuals commit their time and resources to education, fellowship, and to helping those in need among our Church family and in the broader world. We are a church where faith, hope, justice and love are valued, and above all, Jesus is Lord.

A Life Worth Living

Jesus said: “I have come that you may have life, and have it in abundance.” Beginning today, the Center for Faith Development of Round Hill Community Church has launched a yearlong exploration of the theme, A Life Worth Living. From month to month we will explore different dimensions of this theme. Through worship, classes, speakers, and resources to be made available on our website, we will give you many ways to engage your thinking about A Life Worth Living.

As we embark on this program of learning we will provide you with ongoing announcements and updates through our church website, church Facebook page, and e-blasts, so that you will know how to join in the varied opportunities for study and reflection. The theme for the month of Septem-ber will be Gratitude, and it is in a spirit of gratefulness for our life together that we look forward to joining you on this journey of faith!

CHILDREN’S CORNER

Jesus loves children. He loves you. Jesus loves you so much that he has a plan for your life. He wants you to grow to love Him and learn more about God. He sends his angels to protect every person that will one day accept Jesus as their Savior. Think about that for a moment. That means that for every person sitting here in church, their guardian angel is hovering over the pews or sitting on the roof! I know what you may be thinking. If you can’t see them, how do you know they are here? Because the Bible tells us so.

God has a guardian angel to protect you from harm and to guide you along the path of life. So this week, as many of you begin a new school year, take comfort in knowing that you have a good angel that loves and obeys God that is watching over you. So whether its new school year jitters or any type of challenge this coming year, just say a little prayer to your guardian angel and know that all will be well!

A child’s daily prayer to their guardian angel: Angel sent by God to guide me, be my light and walk beside me. Be my guardian and protect me, on the paths of life direct me. Amen.

Kids!! Don’t forget to bring your school backpacks or book bags to Church next Sunday, September 11th for our first-ever Blessing of the Backpacks!

REFLECTIONSGratitude changed me, and I suddenly had an image that gratitude could also transform the whole world. However dismal global events may be, looking for the bright spots allows us to survive and move on. Gratitude spreads quickly to other people. Charles Darwin believed that the societies with the most compassion are the best able to flourish. Acts of kindness are noticed, reciprocated, passed forward. If we put good into the world, maybe, just maybe, it starts to be returned.

Janice Kaplan, The Gratitude Diaries: How a Year Looking on the Bright Side Can Transform Your Life

I find that the one thing which I want to put into practice in my own life is the conscious and deliberate habit of finding somebody to thank.
