REPORT ON RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS

Kendriya Vidyalaya No-2 AFS, Kalailunda celebrated 142nd birth anniversary of our first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October 2017 as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in a grand manner. Celebration began with the garlanding of the portrait of Sardar Patel by the Principal, Mr. Bhupesh Bhatt and teachers. He was remembered for his achievements .Then Pledge on Rashtriya Ekta was taken by the principal, teachers, students and all members of the vidyalaya.

Programme proceeded with the talk on the life of Sardar Patel ji in English by K. Rishita. An enthusiastic song was presented on national integration. Two elaborate talks were presented by Yogita and Komal Bajpai in Hindi on life and achievements of Sardar Patel ji and also on unity in diversity.

Various activities were conducted to celebrate the occasion. Drawing and painting competition was organised in the school library on the topic “Unity in diversity” in which 43 students of various classes participated. A Quiz competition on “The role of Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel in the integration of India” was conducted in the computer lab in which 32 students from different classes participated.

Apart from these activities, principal, teachers and students together participated in “Run for Unity”. Students of the school were first divided into four different houses along with scouts and guides. Then, they were unified to make a human chain, which encircled the playground creating a beautiful integration of different colours and cultures of India. This colourful human chain represented the unified mini India where Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian (represented by students) stay in harmony with each other.
