This is a good book about three girls. Claire is trying to change from a party-er to a hard-core Christian. Drew is relearning that it's okay to trust and depend on people after her dad's death a year ago. Seneca is trying to find a job for her mother, a great actress with no job after she dumped her boyfriend, a big producer. The three girls are roommates at their job. They learn to trust each other and become friends, which all of them are in need of. I really liked this book.

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

Genre: Fantasy

Rating: 4 stars

Review written by some in Grade 7

Inkheart will definitely become one of the fantasy classics of the Harry Potter world. It was a great book and I recommend it to everybody. This book is not the type of book that can be read over and over again because if you want to, you kind of have to read the whole book. Inkheart could definitely be more concise.

Inkspell by Cornelia Funke

Genre: Fantasy

Rating: 3 stars

Review written by some in Grade 7

Inkspell was really good. It could have been more concise, but since the parts were already written they do add a lot to the story. On the whole, it was good. The character mix is really interesting.

I loved this book! It is about a girl named Charley, whose mother has died. In the beginning of the summer, Charley finds a wild dog (who she names Coyote) living in the woods. This book shows how Charley learns to connect with Coyote over the summer. The bond between Charley and Coyote goes beyond anything Charley could ever have imagined, as their friendship helps heal the wounds in Charlie’s heart. This book, based off of the relationship between the author and her own dog, is a book I felt I was able to connect to on many levels, and that I loved very much.

Little House by Boston Bay by Melissa Wiley

Genre: Historical Fiction

Rating: 4 stars

Review written by some in Grade 7

This book was great because it talked about a little girl who lived in the 1800's. She went to school and learned like the other kids. They had someone at their house and he ended up having to leave to go to the navy. She met a good friend and they sat next to each other in school. They were about 6 years old. They had a lot of dreams together. I would recommend this book if you like the book about Laura Ignalls Wilder.

I liked this book. It is about a virgin princess whose name was picked out of a lottery to be sacrificed to the dragon rampaging. After being carried away by the dragon she discovered that all the sacrifices are living with the dragon and his brother who think its horrible to eat people. Turns out her mother and lover are using the dragon, which is enchanting, as a way to get rid of people they don't like. The virgin girls band together to take down the queen. This is a witty story with a touch of romance.

Rating: 5 stars

Review Written by Someone in Grade 7

Among the Hidden is a fascinating book about what it would be like if third children couldn't be seen or known about. It is about a boy named Luke, who is a third child, and can't go outside too much because the population police might catch him and turn him in. Sometimes he sees a girl's face in window, and he knows that two other boys already live there, and he longs to have someone to play with. I never really thought about this happening in our country, before. I would recommend this book if you are interested in fantasy. I couldn't stop reading this book!
