Dear Parish Family,
This weekend’s Gospel is well known to all of us and it speaks to us of the wonder of God who can do so much with so little. From the small offering of 5 loaves and 2 fish Jesus, through and act of prayer, fed thousands of people. Please note that each person ate until he were satisfied, there was no strict rationing of the food but rather a generous portion was received by all. At the conclusion of this great meal there were 12 baskets full of leftovers. God is never outdone in gen-erosity.
As we gather in the Cody Center, which has become our new temporary place of worship, we should all be reminded of just how much we have accomplished in our Capital Campaign through the great generosity of so many. Through your generosity we have been able to complete the exterior restoration of the Cody Center, the Main Church, and have begun the interior restoration of the Main Church. In the coming weeks we plan to share with you the renovation plan for the school gymnasium. If you have yet to make a com-mitment to our Capital Campaign I encourage you to do so. We appreciate gifts of any size, and as you can see, the little adds up to something great. Please help the Parish to reach our goal of six million dollars.
This weekend we are happy to welcome Fr. Briggs Hurley to our Parish. Fr. Briggs comes to us from St. Michael Parish and we are so blessed that he has been assigned to St. Joseph. Please see this weekend’s bulletin for a brief bio on Fr. Briggs.
Registration for this year’s PREP program has begun. Please visit our website to learn more about the program and to register your child/children. Our program relies on volunteers to serve as teachers, aids and traffic coordinators. Please consider sharing your time with the Parish to ensure our children receive the best religious education possible. Please talk to Lourdes Flem-ming, our Administrator of Religious Education on how to serve.
St. Joseph Catholic School is on track to resume classes in August. I want to thank our Principal, Robin Fecitt for her great leadership throughout the COVID pandemic. Robin and her entire staff have done a great job to ensure all our school students continue to receive a high-quality Catho-lic education.
