Victoria Orafa is a senior counsel in the Los Angeles office of Manning & Kass, where shepractices with the Professional Liability Team. Ms. Orafa joins the firm having practiced forseveral years at a boutique plaintiff's firm, where she gained broad experience in generalcivil litigation in matters involving real estate, wrongful foreclosures, labor andemployment law, civil rights, fraud, personal injury, breach of contract, and unlawfuldetainer matters, amongst others.
In the area of immigration law, she has prepared multiple immigration petitions; includingfamily-based adjustment of status petitions, consular processing, asylum petitions, U visas,battered spouse petitions, waivers, and work-based adjustment of status petitionsincluding H1B and PERM applications. She has also handled immigration appeals beforethe United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
In the area of bankruptcy law, Ms. Orafa has made several 341(a) appearances in chapter 7and 13 cases, attended initial debtor interviews in chapter 11 cases, made courtappearances, and successfully argued chapter 11 motions. In the area of family law, shehas managed divorce, child support, child custody, and paternity cases from inception toclosure. Ms. Orafa is also experienced defending DUI clients and matters involving juveniledelinquency.
Ms. Orafa graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University,with an LLM (Masters in Law) in Comparative Law in 2008. She was admitted to the California Bar in 2009, the Central District ofCalifornia in 2012, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in 2012.
