THE BIBLE SPEAKS
I am the Bible, God’s wonderful library. I am always – and above all – the Truth. To the weary pilgrim, I am a strong staff.
To the one who sits in darkness, I am glorious light. To those who stumble beneath heavy burdens, I am
sweet rest. To him who has lost his way, I am a safe guide.
To those who are tossed about by the storms of life, I am a steadfast anchor.
To those who search for salvation, I reveal the Savior of the world.
I am the Bible, God’s wonderful gift to mankind.

WHAT MATTERS IS FAITH
Two of the most prominent individuals in the Old Testament are David and Moses.
One began to serve the Lord when he was very
young. The other began to serve the Lord when
he was much older. Whether young or old it
didn’t matter. What mattered was their faith.
One faced a giant, the other faced a Pharoah. The power of the enemies didn’t
matter. What mattered was their faith. They
both had to face impossible odds with little or
no help from those around them. They beat
impossible odds with God’s help. What mattered was their faith.
David should be an example to the
young. Moses should be an example to the old.
There are giants and Pharoahs all around. It
doesn’t matter. What matters is faith.
We should all try to have productive lives throughout our entire lifetimes. Try to be
a David or a Moses, and we can if we have
faith. (Romans 10:17; Hebrews 11:6, 1 John

PRAY FOR OUR KIDS AND TEACHERS
It is hard to believe that summer break is almost over for our kids and
teachers. It doesn’t seem like all that long ago that it was May and everyone was
talking about summer break. Now, it is the beginning of August and everyone is
talking about going back to school!
As our kids and teachers prepare to start a new school year, I want to
encourage you to take some time to pray for all of our students and all of our
teachers. Students and teachers alike have difficult jobs.
Our kids will enter back into classrooms where a good portion of the
student body does not live for God or have a desire to reflect Him. Our kids will
need strength and encouragement to overcome the trials and temptations that
come with being a youth in the United States.
Our teachers will also go back into the classroom and try to teach their
students all the things required by the state. They will also try to teach their
students how to use manners and be a person that respects others. I know their job
is made even more difficult by parents who are not teaching these things at home.
This week when you pray, pray for our kids and pray for our teachers. Pray
that they can stand up to the trials and temptations. Pray that they can let their
light shine. Pray that they can be a positive influence!
Proverbs 10:29, “The way of the Lord is a refuge for the righteous, but it is
the ruin of those who do evil.”
