April 1, 2018 VICTORY

Dair Hileman, Senior Pastor

The Bible passages for today’s message are found in Acts 9:1-9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-11; 1 Timothy 1:15-16; and 1 Corinthians 15:57.

“Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!”

Please join us next week as we resume our series “HIStory.”

The central character of the Bible is God, who guides all of histo-ry to reveal His story. His story tells of God’s glory revealed through the creation and through His magnificent character. As God works in and through and for His people, we see His power, His holiness, and His grace. And over and over again we see how His story can change our story.

STUDENT MINISTRIES It is a priority of Grace to provide a Middle School (6th-8th grade) and High School (9th-12th grade) ministry that is focused on help-ing students reach maturity in Christ. All of our programming, resources, and energy have that mission in mind. We aim to do that through the preaching of God’s word, equipping students to handle God’s word faithfully, and teaching them to live out God’s work in their day-to-day lives. We highly value using godly adults as an example of what that looks like, as well as equip-ping parents to be the primary influencers in the discipleship of their teenager(s). We want eve-rything we do to be centered on Jesus. We’d love to get an oppor-tunity to help your student reach maturity in Christ.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES Our desire for kids at Grace is that each child in our ministry will be equipped to know God’s Truth, trust in Jesus, and serve in Love. Your child’s spiritual, physical, and emotional wellbeing are important to us, which is why we: Make environments inviting, fun, safe, and secure. Teach Truth - using God’s word as our one true source. Partner with families to empower parents as their child’s primary spiritual caregivers. Do everything with excellence. Our programming is intentional and infused with quality content. Keep it kid-friendly! From nursery to grade school - we will engage your child at their level.

We would be honored to have your child with us at Grace and hope to see you soon.

LEROY & DEBBIE ZUMACK, Greater Europe Mission, France Hope Church commissioned the Zumacks to France in the 1980’s where they have served in Paris, followed by a move to Lille about 12 years ago. They have ministered in various leadership

capacities in that local congregation, plus Leroy serves as a chaplain in the Longuenesse prison. Recently, their efforts have focused on planting an English-speaking church in this area which borders Belgium and contains many English speakers. Emily Rezek is also involved in this effort, plus the Irwins hope to join them after completion of language school. Other areas of ministry are part of their daily life, many of which are related to the influx of refugees from the Mideast. These include devoted Muslims, others who wish to escape Islam, and everything in between. Some are open to the Gospel. Leroy continues to follow up with prisoners after their release. Health issues have required recent trips to the hospital. (Leroy - eczema and Debbie – torn retina) While Debbie was recovering from her eye surgery last November, she received word that her mother had passed away. Pray for health and energy for Leroy and Debbie. Also pray for those gifted persons and those needed persons necessary for establishing a healthy church.

Please note your prayer requests on today’s Connection Card. Also, remember to tell us how God answers

† Betty Jarrell asks for prayer for relief from back pain. † Rosalie Wagner’s friend Roz’s kidneys are not functioning and her heart is

weak. She recently had a Cardiac Catheterization, pray for strength and her health to improve.

† Stacy KeelingMoore - After a week, my mom, Karen, is out of the hospital. She was evaluated for chest pains. Praise her heart looks strong. Please pray for doctors to figure out the cause of blood clots in her lungs which make it hard to breath and hence the chest pain, also for the correct medicine to be found quickly.

† Dixie Shafer’s cousin, Carol, has asked for prayers for herself and her husband, Dan. She is in poor health, but cannot sleep due to concern over her husband who was just diagnosed with Lymphoma. Pray for his salvation; he is firm in his unbelief.

† Pam James - Praise! Thank you for praying for Rich James’ cardiac catheterization last week. We are thankful for good results.

† Elaine Johnson wishes to thank everyone for their prayers. Norman is doing well and going to rehab three times a week. She will be having knee surgery in the near future and not looking forward to it. Pray for peace of mind, a good surgery, and patience during the recovery.

† Nancy Basden - Praise! My nephew, John, had surgery for cancer on the brain stem. His surgeon was able to remove the cancer with no complications. Truly a miracle. Thanks to all of you who lifted him up in prayer. God still performs miracles. Thanks also for your prayer, condolences, and beautiful plant for her sister’s homegoing. They were heart felt. Please continue to lift her husband, Daryl, in prayer his Alzheimer’s is advancing and he is lost without Sharon.
