Veteran’s Day Assembly Essay Contest 2014 Write a short essay, 250 words or less, describing a symbol of American Freedom. If your essay is selected, you will present it to the Veteran’s Day Assembly on November 10, 2014. As an American citizen you enjoy certain rights or freedoms that have been established by our Founding Fathers. These freedoms have endured through centuries of conflict and war under the protection of our government and veterans. Choose a symbol of freedom and describe how that symbol defines freedom to you, and how our veterans have helped secure that freedom. Submit your essay to your Language Arts teacher by October 7, 2014 These essays may be used as an alternate Literary Giant Project.
