VERMONT RIGHT TO LIFE MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Vermont Right to Life Committee is to achieve universal recognition of
the sanctity of human life from conception through natural death. In pursuit of that mission,
VRLC, through peaceful, legal means, seeks changes in public opinion, public policy, the law, and individual behavior that respect the right to life and reject abortion, euthanasia, and other
actions that deny the right to life.

This full and informative day will include expert guest speakers
discussing and focusing on the issues relating to amending the
Vermont Constitution to include abortion (referred to Proposal 5
or Article 22). If Proposal 5 pass-es in the next biennium, the pro-abortion measure will appear on the general election ballot in No-
vember of 2022.
A Life Symposium is your opportunity to become fully
informed and prepared to make a difference in your local
community.

Proposal 5: Amendment to the Vermont Constitution to be on the General Elec-
tion ballot in 2022.
*Article 22. Personal Reproductive Liber-ty
*That an individual’s right to personal re-productive autonomy is central to theliberty and dignity to determine one’s ownlife course and shall not be denied or in-fringed unless justified by a compellingState interest achieved by the least restric-tive means.
Proposal 5 was passed by both the House and Senate during the 2019 legislative session. The measure will need to pass both the House and Senate again in the next biennium.
If Proposal 5 passes the Legislature in the 2021—2022 session, the language above will be placed before the voters of Ver-mont on the general election ballot of No-vember 2022.
