About the Velká Pardubická

The Velká Pardubická is a famous cross-country steeplechase run in Pardubice, Czech Republic. The first race was run in 1874, and right from the beginning the race attracted great interest. This unique race has a rich and fascinating history and it takes place annually on the second Sunday in October. It is run over a distance of 6.9km (4.28 Miles) and has 31 obstacles, usually taking around 9-10 minutes for the horses to finish the course.

The racecourse is a wonderful green space, which breathes excitement and at the same time relaxation. It is located approximately 1.5 hours from Prague so is easily accessible whilst spending a few days in Czech Republic's Capital City.

Racing Breaks offer packages based in Prague with return transfers out to Pardubice to take in this famous event.

Saturday 10th October 2020

● Depart on a direct flight from the UK to Prague.● Upon arrival into Prague Airport you will be met in the arrivals hall by your driver and transferred directly to your hotel.● You will then have the remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure to explore Prague. ● Option to add a trip to a Traditional Folklore Dinner.

Sunday 11th October 2020

● Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.● After breakfast you will be collected from the hotel and transferred to Pardubice Racecourse.● Enjoy a full days racing culminating in the 130th running of the Velká Pardubická.● Following the conclusion of the racing you will be transferred back to your hotel.● Upon return to Prague you will have the remainder of the evening at leisure.

Monday 12th October 2020.

● Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.● Have the day at leisure to explore more of Prague before being collected from your hotel and returned to Prague Airport ready to catch your flight back to

the UK.

What better way to experience Czech culture then heading to an evening full of folk music, songs and traditions?

Folklore Garden is a truly unique evening offering an interactive show in the romantic setting of a small castle and folklore village. This special atmosphere is created by the location: near the heart of old Prague and the romantic shores of the Vltava river.

You will never feel lonely in Folklore Garden. You can meet guests from the whole world and are seated at large rustic tables and benches where you can share this experience with other guests.

This is by no means a sit down dinner, you can also dance and sing along! The dancers and singers will involve everyone and you will learn easy Czech folk songs and dances that are cheerful, and create a fantastic mood!

Whilst enjoying the performance of musicians and dancers in folk costumes, a 4 course dinner will be served. You can also enjoy drawing and serving wine using a special pipette – glass wine-taster.

You can make regular payments towards your balance at any stage but we require a further payment upon the release of flight schedules for October 2020 and the final balance is due by 30th August 2020.
