In recent years vehicle clon ing has become a major concern for both veh icle owners andpol ice. C lon ing involves the c riminal ac tivity of copying a legal license plate to place ontoa s imila r ve hicle that is then o ften involved in cr im ina l activity . Lega l owne rs are o ftensubsequently implicated in c rimes they have no t committed.The g rowth of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras on our roads hasmade the act ivity of license plate cloning even mo re va luable to criminal gangs.

The solu t ion to this p rob lem is to ensu re that the numbe r plate canno t be eas ily copiedand offers a range of un ique visual and e lec tronic identif iers linked on ly to tha t specif icnumber p late.
