How to make VE Day bunting

Equipment & Materials:

Scissors

Glue stick

Ruler

Pencil

Crayons/felt tip pens

String

Paper (any sort e.g. paper napkin, newspaper, brown paper, wallpaper, magazine)

Directions:

1. Take a piece of A4 paper, fold it into quarters and open it. Use a pencil and ruler to mark a triangle that is 14cm wide on the short-folded edge. Its point will be in the middle of the non-folded edge. Do the same (like a mirror image) so it makes a diamond shape.

2. Cut out the diamond and use it as a template to draw around and to cut out other diamond shapes from your chosen paper.

3. Fold the diamonds in half to give a triangle, decorate the outside of it with pens and crayons.

4. Open the diamonds with your design on the outside, decide how long you want your string of bunting to be, lie a piece of string along the middle fold of the diamonds.

5. Glue the 2 cut edges together on each triangle, make sure there is string at either end so you can hang it up with Sellotape or blue tack

You’re finished! Well done! You can now decorate your house in style for your VE Day celebrations at home!
