This recommendation describes a standardised CMI/VMI process in which customer inventories are managed jointly by customers and suppliers. The document includes a recommendation for electronic data interchange (EDI) of the data required in the CMI/VMI process, as well as the process description. This recommendation has been issued by the VDA Project Group „Interchange of master data and movement data in the aftermarket‟.
